Woolworths has officially closed MySchool and launched a new platform called MyDifference. This means you need to re-select Pinelands High School in the Woolworths app – otherwise we will lose your support.

Pinelands High has benefitted from MySchool over many years, with more than R5000 income a month being derived from that source.

At present, only 116 of our previous supporters have switched over to MyDifference with the result that, in future, we could potentially lose R4000 a month of anticipated income.

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Qa-Eed Lodewyk in Grade 9.

This remarkable young man will be deeply missed by his friends, classmates, team-mates, teachers and the wider school community.

His time with us was very brief but the impact he made will be felt for a very long time. Among other things, he will be remembered for his bubbly personality, strong sense of justice, respectful nature, and happy smile.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time.

*Murder, mystery and mayhem* come to Pinelands High School next week with the annual school production, which runs from Tuesday 4 August to Friday 7 August at 7 pm each evening.

Clue: High School Edition is a fast-paced murder mystery filled with colourful characters, comedy, suspense and unexpected twists.

Six mysterious guests are invited to a dinner party at a remote mansion, where their host suddenly turns up dead. Trapped inside with a killer, they must uncover who committed the crime, where it happened and which weapon was used.

Tickets cost R100 and are available online via Quicket or they can be purchased from the school shop.

Congratulations to our Grade 12 students who wrote the Further Studies Mathematics Extended examination last month. This IEB examination covers matrices and graph theory.

A special mention goes to the students who achieved above 80%:

Luke Pascoe – 86%
Farah Pandit – 85%
Ruth Trimble – 84%

The Further Studies Mathematics Extended students achieved an exceptional average of 78.13%. Thank you to our wonderful teachers too for their teaching and dedication.
