Fluency grid 💕

There's been a lot of talk about fluency grids and we've used them in every Reading for Meaning task in Grade 3. I've seen teachers using them in the online meetings we've had and it made me think about how to incorporate it with my target sounds for the week for my class. So it led me to this - I've adapted my set of large sound cards and I printed my set in A6 size (4 on a page). I've laminated them and put a magnet behind each card. I'm going to display it on a section of board in my class so we can read the grid together before starting our phonics lessons. To save time, I'm going to have a cute little one change the order for us in the mornings 💕

Definitely going to start using these again. My idea is to have my GGR group on the mat with me, one group doing their written book work and then another group reading these cards and finding all the focus words. Perfect added exposure and no added marking. 🥰

Word building mats using the Jolly Phonics groups. The focus is to build words that have 3 sounds. Find the beginning, middle and ending sound in the top boxes. Build the word in the 3 smaller boxes and then write all the words they can create in the big box on the right.

I know this will work well for my kiddies that struggle. 💕
