Parallel play is a normal developmental stage, usually appearing around ages 2 to 3, where toddlers play side-by-side with similar toys but do not actively play together. They are "alone together," focusing on their own activities while observing peers, which builds independence, social skills, and cognitive abilities.
Actual social play only starts around 3. This is why Clamber Club is SUCH a great pre-cursor to help your little ones get used to the idea of playing "together"
