🌟 WEEK FOUR IS SHINING BRIGHT AT HCSS! 🌟

We have another happy week of HCSS News to share with our families! 💛

This week, we got to know Mrs Sonja van Rensburg a little better in our Staff Spotlight. From spending her very first day at Holy Cross barefoot after her shoe broke, to her love of Pilates, her answers definitely made us smile! 😄👟

Gia and Besethe brought lots of colour to our Creative Corner with their beautiful house artworks. We love seeing our learners use their imaginations and proudly share what they create! 🎨🏡

Anna Jacobs from Grade 5F also shared her book recommendation, Island of the Lizard King. She gave it a fantastic 5 out of 5 and says it feels like reading a book and playing a game at the same time! 📚⭐

There were plenty of giggles too! Zailey and Anna shared two very funny jokes in Laugh Out Loud.

This month, we are celebrating the wonderful women in our HCSS family. 💐 Our Women’s Month message reminds us to celebrate the strength, kindness, courage and love of the women who inspire us every day. 💗

In Faith & Reflection, we were reminded to be strong and courageous and to remember that God is with us wherever we go. As we move through Week Four, we want to choose kindness, courage and joy. 🙏✨

And the excitement for A Midsummer Musical is growing! 🧚‍♀️🌙

This week, we met the wonderful Mrs Williams in our Staff Spotlight. Her funny habits, childhood dreams and special stories made us smile.

Morgan Brander and Phoenix Kleinsmith proudly showed us their colourful artwork in Creative Corner. Their beautiful bird and brilliant butterfly deserve a big round of applause! 🎨🦋

Sarah from Grade 5L also shared her movie recommendation and gave the Michael Jackson movie an amazing 9.8 out of 10. It sounds like one for the watchlist! 🎬🍿

We are still collecting cans for Trash 4 Treats, so please keep sending them to school. Every can counts! 🥫

There is also more magic growing at HCSS as we prepare for A Midsummer Musical. September is getting closer, and we cannot wait to welcome our families into the enchanted forest! 🧚‍♀️✨

We begin Week Three with grateful hearts, brave minds and a reminder to keep trying, keep learning and keep being kind.

🎭✨ The stage is almost set, HCSS family!

This September, our school hall will be transformed into a world of love, magic and mayhem as our learners take to the stage for A Midsummer Musical. 🧚‍♀️🌙

Expect an enchanting evening filled with music, colour, imagination and plenty of proud-parent moments. This is more than a school concert. It is a chance to celebrate our children, support their hard work and create a beautiful family memory together. 💜

⚽🏆 Northern District Bound! 🏆⚽

We are incredibly proud of our six Holy Cross boys who have been selected to represent the Northern District Schools Football Team at the prestigious Bill Stewart Tournament in Bloemfontein from 30 June to 4 July.

This past weekend, they attended the official handover ceremony, where they were announced as part of the team and received their playing kit. It was a special occasion for the players and their families, and a proud moment for our school community.

We are so excited to capture these special school memories and see our learners looking smart, proud and photo-ready.

Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in full winter uniform/attire.

Learners who are not dressed correctly will unfortunately not be allowed to take part in the class photo.

Let’s get those blazers ready, polish those shoes and make tomorrow picture-perfect! 💙❤️

Karate Pride at HCSS! 🥋✨

A huge congratulations to our HCSS learners who took part in the Regional Championships at the Wynberg Military Base Sport Centre last weekened.

Richard and Muna Obiwuru proudly brought home Bronze Medals, while Miracle, who only started karate at the beginning of this term, won a fantastic Silver Medal! 👏

Miracle fought his way into the final and gave a phenomenal performance against a Brown Belt competitor who represented South Africa in Finland last year. What an incredible achievement! ❤️

We are also so proud of our young Team Event competitors, Dominic, Lwandle, Iminathi, Nyasha and Joshua, who represented HCSS with courage and determination.

Well done to all our karate stars. You made the HCSS family very proud! 💛💜🥋
