A huge, heartfelt thank you to Open Streets Cape Town for giving us the opportunity to join in the day of fun on the streets and spread the word about the Cape Town Fringe arts festival 2017. Ubuntu Academy is a friend of Open Streets and we support their amazing work and align with their manifesto:

"By embracing the concept of Open Streets, we can all create shared spaces that embody respect, and help bridge the social and spatial divides of our city.

We believe streets should:

Enable safer and more cohesive communities
Provide platforms for creative expression of local cultures and values
Be places for recreation and social interaction
Contribute to job creation and local economic activity
Provide choice in how we move around the city
Friends of Open Streets support these principles, and will lobby to change the way people use, perceive and experience streets."

The CTFringe festival ends on Sunday 8th, there are still a great line up of shows to enjoy. to browse andbook visit: www.capetownfringe.co.za

Thanks to MUTI Films, Guto Bussab Innes Maas Ramsey Devin Lewis for this visual memory of the day.

Ubuntu Academy and Cape Town Fringe have come together for some exciting community engagement and audience development workshops. We've been creating awareness about the festival, but also sharing the magic of performance across various communities. This video sees our activation team activating and connecting in Delft for Rainbow Arts Organisation (RAO).

The festival experience is spread across 13 venues in the Cape Town Peninsula, celebrating a variety of performance art and the people making it happen.
The song in the video is written and performed by duo Found At Sea, titled 'Umhambi Wendlela' (the Traveller) :)
