Table View Community Police Forum Celebrates Successful Women’s Day Self-Defence Event

8 August 2026 | Table View, Cape Town

The Table View Community Police Forum, in partnership with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Cape Town, proudly hosted a successful Women’s Day Self-Defence Class on Saturday, 8 August 2026, bringing women from the community together for a day focused on empowerment, confidence, personal safety and community connection.

The event provided participants with practical self-defence skills in a supportive and inclusive environment, while reinforcing an important message: empowered women contribute to safer, stronger and more resilient communities. The strong participation and positive response demonstrated the value of initiatives that equip women with practical tools and greater confidence to protect themselves and those around them.

Table View CPF extends its sincere appreciation to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Cape Town for their partnership, expertise and commitment to making the event a success. We also thank the dedicated instructors, volunteers, community partners and, most importantly, every woman who attended and contributed to the positive spirit of the day.

This event represents what can be achieved when community organisations and partners work together towards a common purpose. The Table View CPF remains committed to building meaningful partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote safety, empowerment, awareness and stronger community relationships.
