Well Done to our Islamia girls senior softball team for winning their match against Cannon's Creek High on Thursday 05 November. Our girls managed to score 12 runs while their opposition could only reply with 6 runs. This was a special achievement for the girls as softball is one of the youngest sports codes at the school & most of the girls have never played the sport before.
Softball training takes place every Tuesday & Thursday.
The team is coached by Mr Jason Theys & managed by Mr Adnaan Harris(Islamia Sports Dept)

A few moments from this past week's basketball matches. Islamia won all of the games & showed that they really are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the basketball world. What makes this even more special, is the fact that we only introduced basketball at the school 2 years ago & have produced more than 5 Western Province representatives. Basketball is coached by Mr B Malemba & managed by Mr Adnaan Harris.

Congratulations to our victorious Islamia U17 Rugby 7's Team who competed in the International Royals Rugby 7's Tournament in Malaysia recently, & became the 1st SA junior team to bring home the cup. Well done boys, you are an inspiration to us all.
The team was accompanied by Mr Z Sectaar, Mr Igsaan Solomans, Mr Adnaan Harris(Islamia Sports Dept.)& the coach Mr Fagree Jacobs.

Best of luck to our U18 Rugby team who left this morning to Malaysia to take part in the International Royal's Rugby 7's Tournament. Have a safe flight & enjoy the tournament. ✈🌏🏉

Islamia Junior Rugby players vs SACS this past Saturday, 23 May 2015 part 2

This past Saturday, 23 May 2015, our junior Islamia Rugby players & their parents braved the cold & rain to play against tough oppossition SACS. Although our U9, U11 & U13 teams went down to SACS, our juniors gained some valuable experience from this outing. All three matches were played on our home fields(part 1)

Our Islamia U12 Basketball Girls at Cape Tech on Saturday. They lost their match, but continue to improve week after week.

Islamia U9A Soccer team played Sunlands Primary yesterday, Wednesday 20 May. Islamia won the match. The full time score was 3-1. Aasim Lamara scored all 3 goals. Well done!

Islamia Under 17 Soccer boys competed in the Annual Groote Schuur Soccer Tournament in Newlands this weekend. Our boys put in some excellent individual performances & were a joy to watch. Here are some photos taken earlier this morning.

Well done to our Islamia College Junior Basketball Girls Team for playing their 1st official match today. They narrowly missed out on a win, ending within 1 point of their hosts, Herzlia Middle School, after being down 8-0 in the 2nd quarter. Herzlia failed to advance their score in the final 2 quarters due to some outstanding defending from our girls & scoring 7 points in the process.

Final score: Islamia 7 Herzlia 8.
Well played girls! Your enthusiasm today was contagious.
