🥈Silbermedaille bei Eskom Expo Regionale Wissenschaftsmesse🥈
Das Projekt „Aerodynamics for Improved Car Design” unserer DSK-Schüler Tristan Krige und Moritz Naumann-Daun (Klasse 10) wurde auf der „Eskom Expo for Young Scientists“ mit einer Silbermedaille ausgezeichnet.🎊 Insgesamt nahmen 235 Projekte teil und einige DSK-Schülerinnen und -Schüler der Jahrgangsstufe 9 besuchten die Ausstellung, um sich inspirieren zu lassen und einen Einblick in die spannende Welt von Forschung und Innovation zu bekommen.

Forschen, präsentieren, durchstarten – von der Schule bis zur internationalen Bühne mit der Eskom Expo for Young Scientists!
Seit 1980 bietet die Eskom Expo for Young Scientists jungen Forschenden von der Grundschule bis zur Highschool eine Bühne, um eigene Projekte aus den Bereichen Naturwissenschaft, Technik und Innovation zu präsentieren. Entstanden aus der Idee, Neugier und Kreativität zu fördern, verbindet die Expo Wettbewerb, Austausch und Inspiration. Schülerinnen und Schüler entwickeln über mehrere Monate ihre Projekte, stellen sie vor einer Jury vor und knüpfen Kontakte zu Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft. Die Wettbewerbe finden auf regionaler, nationaler und internationaler Ebene statt. Ziel ist es, junge Talente zu entdecken, Forschungskompetenz zu stärken und Begeisterung für eine nachhaltige Zukunft zu fördern.🌍

What happens when you combine fascinating experiments, a little bit of magic and a whole lot of curiosity? 60 minutes of Mini Science Lab fun in 2 shows for our 260 excited learners (Gr. 1 to 5)!
Yesterday, Sheldon and Cheydene wowed our learners with an exciting show packed with amazing experiments from the world of natural sciences - sparking curiosity and inspiring our learners to discover the joy of STEM subjects.🚀

There were plenty of “WOW!” moments, curious questions and, hopefully, many budding young scientists inspired to explore, experiment and ask, ‘But what happens if…?’

A very big thank you to everyone who made last night’s Women’s Day concert at Café Roux such an unforgettable evening. Our incredible DSK musicians took to the stage for a sold-out show that was filled with inspiration, emotion, empowerment - and much fun!
Witnessing our learners performing is a powerful reminder of what can happen when young people are given the opportunity to dream, create and share their passion for music.

♟️What a Chess Weekend!♟️
Last weekend, the DSK chess teams competed in the Metro Central District Top Schools Trials with our U11 and U13 teams.
Our U11 players are all relatively new to competitive chess, but they rose to the challenge with determination and teamwork, earning an impressive 3rd place and bronze medals. What a fantastic achievement!
Our experienced U13 team played brilliantly throughout the tournament. Unfortunately, they narrowly lost the final round, which meant they finished with a silver medal. We are still waiting for the official confirmation, but traditionally only the winning team advances to the next stage and it looks like our journey may end here.
