HOW I FIND TIME TO SEW AS A WIFE AND FULL TIME WORKING MUM OF 3 BOYS UNDER 7

I always felt like life was too busy for me to find time to sew, but the truth is, I have the time. I just wasn't spending it wisely.

When I decided that I was going to commit to sewing just 30 minutes to an hour once a week, I found that I could easily fit this in if I made just one or two nights phoneless.

Usually, I'm so tired from the day that I spend an hour a night mindlessly scrolling on my phone out of habit. And after every time I do it, I regret it and think about all the things I could have done that I would have enjoyed more. Can you relate?

Sewing brings me so much joy, and I always feel so good after I spend time making something Im excited to wear! Now, I set aside one or two nights a week where I forget about my phone and do something for myself. I sew ❤️

And to be honest, it's not always easy to stick to something when life gets busy. But even if you don't sew for a week, it's OK, you can pick it up next week.

The sewing club I'm launching next month is very close to my heart. As much as I'm doing it for all the lovely ladies I want to share the joy of sewing with, I am also doing it for myself. To create a group of women who want to learn how to sew, in a supportive encouraging environment where we can help each other make time to do something for ourselves that we enjoy.

This weekend, we are completing the last two lessons in the sewing series and will be sewing the skirt together! I am so excited to see what everyone makes!

I am so grateful for the experience of sharing my 12 years of sewing with a group of amazing ladies and so touched by all the positive feedback I've received so far ❤️

BOUGHT CLOTHES AND THE SEAMS ARE COMING UNDONE? The quality of clothing in stores has dropped substantially from my experience. That's when you manage to find something you like to begin with 😅

The seams from two blouses I bought from in January 2023 have come undone at the cuffs. The fabric of a dress I bought from had runs in them after one wash. I have quite a few garments like this. They just don't make clothes like they used to. One of the major disadvantages of fast fashion is that you are not guaranteed to get the quality that you pay for.

Being able to sew your own clothing is a priceless skill - It gives you full control of the quality of the garment from the fabric you buy to the way it is made. I made this blouse in 2012. It was only my 6th sewing project, and 12 years later, I am still able to wear it! If I could do it, you can too! That is exactly what the sewing projects in my membership will do - Teach you 1 skill at a time so that you can build up the skills to make great quality clothes step-by-step without the overwhelm!
