Texas students will have to learn cursive again starting this fall Starting this year, students will learn how to write cursive letters in second grade.

Fine motor activities are important for handwriting however they are not the be all and end all. In almost every group I have one who is writing in cursive well beyond their fine motor performance. Today we focussed on dexterity, speed and a good shaving foam fight.

Following requests for further information and possible flexibility to sessions, I have added another session.
2:30 - 3:15pm, R200/session: Learn to write: starts with lower case cursive and for those that have never written or never written cursive
3:30 - 4:30pm, R250/session: for those that are already writing, find cursive difficult, the tweens and teens, or to improve legibility and speed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries. Thanks. Steve

Operation Bootcamp starts again on 21 January 2019. I’ve taken a different approach to timing this year and will work within school term timing. The course will be shorter but give students the opportunity to continue into the next term. Note that groups will remain small (6-8 students) and sessions will run 45-55min depending on group size and needs.

Improving hand function using fine motor activities is an essential workout at Cursive Bootcamp

One of the most vulnerable things I do at the is invite parents to sit in on a session. We started this group 9 weeks ago. They have had 7 sessions, a 2 week holiday and today an evaluation. Top photo photo was 9 weeks ago, bottom from today. Phew! Going in the right direction.
