⚽️ WCSAii Soccer Tournament Update ⚽️

It was a busy and challenging day on the field for our Western Cape soccer team as they played their first two matches of the WCSAi Soccer Tournament.

The opening match against Mpumalanga saw plenty of stoppages due to injuries, including head contacts, cramps and leg injuries. With no linesmen available during the first half, the match presented some additional challenges. After going 1–0 down, Sergio van Rooyen found the equaliser in the second half, but Mpumalanga scored again to secure a 2–1 win.

In the second match against Limpopo, the team again faced a physical game with frequent injury stoppages and no linesmen throughout the match. After a goalless first half, Clinton Adams put WC ahead, but Limpopo quickly equalised before scoring the winning goal to take the match 2–1.

Although the results did not go our way, our players showed resilience, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout both matches. 👏⚽️

We are proud of our team for representing the Western Cape and giving their all on the field. 💙⚽️

🖤 Today, our staff wore black.
We stand in solidarity with women across South Africa and with every family affected by gender-based violence.
May we continue to raise our voices, stand together and work towards a country where every woman and girl can feel safe.
We see you. We support you. We stand with you. 🖤
Enough is enough. The lives of women matter. 🇿🇦
