Spending some time in the Cape Town Central Library this morning, took me full circle...

Got me thinking all the way back to 2021 and the start of my self-publishing journey. Applying for ISBNs, dealing with amazingly helpful staff back then and awesome librarians today 💕 Thank you for hosting book club in your beautiful space this morning, Central Library, Cape Town

Though Game Ranger Grace has been on the shelves of this library for a while - fresh copies left there today, will soon be available for little ones to check out 🤗🌻

THE UNIVERSE: "Maybe sit on the bench for a little bit, hey? That's enough shot-taking for you, wena..."

This story is told from a place of jest, but the truth we don't speak about enough (especially on social media) is that sometimes the pursuit of a dream requires a resilience that can leave you feeling on the brink of self-destruction...

Certainly this was me (and sometimes still is).

The dashed hopes.
The anticipated "yes's" that turned out to be "no's".
The "we'll come back to you" that doesn't come at all.
The "not at this time" that turned into "never".

The truth of the matter is that the pursuit of a dream can be a soul-crushing, heart-breaking, tear-inducing, bitter-sweet agony...

BUT, if you can keep yourself keeping on? More often than not, it turns out to be worth it 💕

But being Emotionally Intelligent means knowing that our emotions are one of the very few things in life that are absolutely ours alone to control - in that we decide the impact they have on us.
