Youth at the centre of Agriculture

Youth at the centre of Agriculture YACA is a catalyst organisation which engages, inspires, equips, empowers and serves young people in Africa to become pre-eminent in the Green economy.

YACA is a registered Non-profit Company, acting as a catalyst, engaging, inspiring, equipping, empowering and serving young people in South Africa to become the change agents in Agriculture and the Green Economy. The food security challenge needs a broad based sustainable solution as opposed to continuous donor dependency for hand-outs. YACA is a pioneering organisation with its innovative approaches for developmental efforts in marginalised / disadvantaged communities and is working with commitment for the development of disadvantaged communities irrespective of race, gender, creed, class or ethnicity. We seek to address the challenges of food insecurity and youth unemployment within South Africa. The complexity surrounding food security and climate change and Youth unemployment issues in most communities requires an innovative approach; hence we have developed a unique model that seeks to address this which aims to empower Youth to develop precisely modelled, all year round, sustainable environmental solutions to help rural and urban communities to create local economic stimulation and living wage jobs by building and managing localized food sovereignty networks which grows fresh, affordable, flavourful and nutritionally superior fruits, vegetables and a greener environment and economy.
