We are so proud of our athletes for their wonderful sportsmanship, team spirit and many achievements at the CSO Inter-Catholics athletics at Green Point Stadium.
A growth mindset changes the way a child approaches learning, challenge, and confidence at school.
Many pupils walk into class already believing:
- I’m not good at maths
- I struggle with reading
- spelling tests are too hard
- I’m not good at speaking in front of others
And once that belief is in place, part of the battle is already lost.
That is why one small word matters so much: yet.
“I can’t do it” becomes
“I can’t do it yet.”
That shift helps children see that progress is possible.
In this video, we explore why growth mindset is so important and how strong teachers help build it by:
- praising progress
- reinforcing effort
- scaffolding learning
- helping children learn through mistakes
- building confidence step by step
When children believe they can improve, everything changes.
They keep going, they grow in confidence, and they reach goals they once thought were out of reach.

Our Matric pupils thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful CSO Mass this morning, which brings the Matrics of Catholic schools together in blessings and praise at the start of this special year in their educational journey. We were grateful for the presence of our chaplain, Fr Emmanuel, and for our altar servers being asked to serve at this special occasion.

Our Ash Wednesday Masses marked the start of the season of Lent today in a special way and it was lovely to have parents joining us. Our Pre-Primary pupils spent time with Mrs Smith and Br Peter in the Chapel to grow in understanding of this meaningful day.

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at St Joseph’s Marist College.
Today is a reminder that love shows up in the small things: kindness in the classroom, friendship on the playground, and care in the way we look out for one another. Wishing our pupils, families, staff, and wider community a day filled with love, joy, and peace.
Art is where imagination turns into confidence. At St Joseph’s, learners explore creativity, develop fine skills, and express who they are, supported by teachers who value every child’s growth.

Our Senior School pupils showed great spirit and determination both on and off the track at our Inter-house athletics day. Doran won the house spirit award and Leicher were the winners of the races. Well done to all on a fantastic day of sportsmanship and togetherness!
From first notes to confident performances, music develops discipline, listening, and self expression. At St Joseph’s, culture is a key part of shaping well rounded learners.
We celebrate effort, respect, and humility. At St Joseph’s, sportsmanship matters, because character shows up under pressure.
Sport builds teamwork, resilience, and leadership. At St Joseph’s, learners develop skills, confidence, and a love of movement through a strong sports culture across ages and stages.
