Herzlia Dafna is a Jewish pre-primary school which forms part of the United Herzlia Schools. We provide a safe and beautiful haven for our children. Dafna is an intimate, warm embracing and inclusive school where every child counts. We offer a relaxed and homely atmosphere where both children and parents can explore, discover and learn together. Our playgroup accepts children from 18 months old and is a home away from home. It is a place where children learn to separate from their parents in an enriched, educational and loving Jewish environment. We offer an informal programme within a structured environment. Our Grade R is a more formal, rich, creative, stimulating and exciting experience. The day provides many diverse activities including music, ball skills, Hebrew, Xhosa and Living Maths. When our children leave, they do so as independent and confident individuals, ready to face the challenges and expectations of Grade 1. Our morning care, aftercare and holiday schools run throughout the year, providing relief for our parents. Our teachers nurture and support our children in our care and help them excel and reach new heights. With our strong roots and our love for Judaism, we will continue to grow and build relationships together to ensure that the foundation for our children's education continues to give them all they need to build on their future successes. In summary:

- We cater for children from playgroup (18 months to Grade R

- We have a team of dedicated teachers, psychologists, learning support teachers, teacher assistants and aftercare coordinators

- We have onsite occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists

- We have an animal farm

- We integrate all Jewish festivals, Shabbat and traditions into our daily programmes.

- We plan children’s learning around themes that are relevant to their lives and all are based on our strong Jewish heritage, faith, ethos and values.

Cheryl's valuable contribution to our school and the Milnerton community is immeasurable. Cheryl, thank you for your inspiration to us all. You have always worked so hard to make Dafna the nurturing warmest special school it is and you have always put every effort and all of your being into making it home away from home for everybody.

You have always been a willing mentor and counsellor to everyone, giving both educational and personal advice. We truly appreciate this as well as all the beautiful moments you have given us over the past 20 years.

We will never forget the knowledge you have imparted upon us. Thank you for your passion in teaching, your dedication and commitment and most importantly your selflisness in everything you do. You have enlightened so many young hearts here at Dafna and you really are leaving a profound impact on all of our lives. You are leaving a legacy that will be cherished always.

Cheryl, you are a true Eshet Chayil. A woman of worth. You make things better, you make things happen and you have made a difference. Your strong beliefs in Tzeddakah and the way you treat, love and respect others has taught us strong Jewish values that will hopefully serve us always.

Kerem are lucky to be getting you!

This week we learnt about Lag B'Omer and celebrated with a mielie and potato braai. The Playgroup/Younger Group also delighted in playing hopscotch!
