Equal Education along with HCA (History and Current Affairs) have teamed up to invite Prof. Hugh Corder to present "The Price of Freedom." Professor Corder will be speaking on the Constitution and how it translates into our rights and civic responsibilities as South Africans. He will delve into the current political situation by looking at our laws and our place as South Africans. It promises to be an interesting and insightful talk and will hopefully provide you with some food for thought as we approach Freedom Day on the 27 April. The event will be on Tuesday 25 April at second break in the Jubilee Hall. We hope to see many Westerfordians there. 📷: O' Sullivan Photography

The Price of Freedom: a talk by Prof. Hugh Corder - Professor of Public Law at UCT.
Professor Corder has been a Professor of Law at UCT since 1987, he was on a committee of four which drafted the first Bill of Rights for South Africa at the negotiations in 1993. He is also currently the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor at UCT and based on his children’s experiences, he wishes that he had been a Westerfordian.
Tuesday 25 April at Second break in the Jubilee Hall
It promises to be highly insightful and interesting and we encourage you all to attend in an attempt to broaden your knowledge on our country's Constitution and your rights and responsibilities as a South African.
Brought to you by Equal Education WHS and HCA (History and Current Affairs)

Hundreds of young girls miss weeks, if not months, of school due to menstruation and lack of sanitary products. This hampers their education and ultimately impacts their future and success. Come to our stall tomorrow and buy a doughnut or popcorn for R7 to help send these girls to school. All proceeds will go towards providing long term sanitary ware for young women and girls across the province ✨ Do your bit and help us make Equal Education for all possible

67 Kids to School was a project started by SACS High School pupils in 2015. It was a resounding success and thus 5 current pupils have decided to continue the project. Equal Education would like to show our support and would like you to show your support for this amazing initiative.
The founding team managed to raise R44 000 in 2015 which paid for an expanded starter pack consisting of full school uniform, shoes, school bag and stationery for 67 kids starting Grade 1 in the Masiphumelele informal settlement.
This year the team aims to provide a similar starter pack to another 67 kids in the area. They are once again working in conjunction with the NPO Living Hope to identify those young and eager Grade 1 learners in need in need.
Each starter pack will cost roughly R469.
We as Equal Education Westerford would like to encourage any donations to help give these children the chance to enter their first year of schooling feeling confident and ready to begin their journey. Please help us to help them and support this truly wonderful initiative ✨
