Empower-Ed: South Africa Empowered-Ed, formerly Get SACE, is a team of professional development consultants supporting educators, schools & providers

According to legislation, all South African educators (principals and deputy principals, heads of department and teachers) are required to earn 150 professional development (PD) points over a three year cycle. Professional development points can be achieved by performing SACE endorsed activities, each of which has a predetermined point allocation. Participation is aimed at deepening the knowledge of educators, refining their skills and promoting career development at all levels. Cape Town teachers, this one is for you!

Empower-Ed is excited to collaborate with Renee Lighton of LightOn Education, the Santa Shoebox Project and Laager Tea4Kidz for a FREE Teacher Wellness Workshop designed to give educators an afternoon to pause, reconnect and invest in their own wellbeing.

Date: Monday, 12 October 2026
Place: Canal Walk Auditorium, Entrance 5
Time: Registration from 14:30 | Workshop from 15:00 to 16:30
PLUS: Earn 5 CPTD points and receive your SACE certificate at the workshop

COST: While attendance is completely free, we invite you to bring a donation of stationery, books or cash in support of the Santa Shoebox Legacy Project.

A huge thank you to the incredible teams at Purpleza and Wayground for joining us for yesterday’s webinar, Beyond the Test: Creative Ways to Assess Learning.

What an inspiring session! We loved seeing educators from across South Africa connecting, sharing ideas, asking questions and exploring creative ways to rethink assessment in the classroom.

There’s something incredibly motivating about walking away from sessions like this reminded of just how much passion, innovation and care exists within our education community.
