We are situated at 13 Manta Way, Strandfontein and teach in an indoor, heated swimming pool. Lessons are conducted in groups of 2-5 swimmers for a duration of 30 minutes. Based entirely on water safety and then growing into stroke development and later stroke correction. We create confident, competent swimmers with love and patience whilst encouraging consistency...

Behind every swimmer is a village 💕
One of the best parts of our Open Days is seeing the people behind every swimmer's journey. The parents, grandparents, siblings and and caregivers who support them every step of the way.
Thank you for spending the day with us and for being such an important part of our growing Little Mermaids community.

Day 2 of 4 Open Days 💙🌊
Every smile, every brave little jump, every proud parent moment… this is why we do what we do.
Little Mermaids has never just been about swimming lessons — it’s about community, confidence, connection and creating safe spaces for our little swimmers to grow.
Thank you to every family, school partner and supporter who continues to make this journey sopecial ✨
Now tell us… which slide stole your heart?

You know what made Saturday special?
It wasn’t the swimming.
(Not entirely anyway.)
It was the way children walked in shy… and left feeling 10 feet tall. 🥹
It was watching parents stand poolside with that look, the one that says:
“That’s MY child.”
It was the conversations between families who had never met before but somehow already felt connected.
It was instructors high-fiving tiny swimmers like Olympic champions.
It was wet hair, loud laughter, soggy towels, running feet, proud grandparents, nervous first-timers, excited returning families, and a whole lot of heart.
And honestly?
That’s the part no one sees on a website.
Because Little Mermaids has never only been about learning to swim.
It’s about raising confident children.
Creating safe spaces.
Building a community where every child feels seen, celebrated, and capable.
Our first Open Day of 2026 felt like one giant reminder of that.
To every family, supporter, and little swimmer who spent the day with us, thank you for being part of something that feels so much bigger than lessons in a pool.
Now we HAVE to ask… 👀
Which photo in this carousel sums up the day best for you?
The pure joy?
The bravery?
The chaos?
The hugs?
The “I can do it!” moment?
Drop the slide number + your favourite memory below ⬇️💬
(And yes… someone is definitely going to mention the boerewors rolls)
The kids have spoken….👀
YOU are coming to Gerards ECD Open Day tomorrow

Motherhood may look different for all of us, but the love we have for our children is universal. 🤍
At Little Mermaids Swim School, we see that love every day, in the moms who show up, cheer loudly, juggle it all, and trust us with their little ones.
What makes this community so special is how mothers uplift one another while creating a safe, loving space where every child, from every walk of life, feels seen, supported and celebrated.
Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible moms and mother figures in our Little Mermaids family 💐✨
From Cape Town to Portugal 🇿🇦🇵🇹
This reel captures more than just a trip. It captures a dream we’ve worked incredibly hard for.
To stand among 173 delegates from across the globe at the International Swim Schools Association conference in Cascais,Portugal as the only two South Africans in the room was both humbling and deeply inspiring.
We listened. We learned. We asked questions. We were challenged. And most importantly, we were reminded that the work we do each day matters so much more than swimming lessons.
Every insight gained, every conversation had, and every lesson learned comes back home with us to better serve our families, empower our team, and continue building a swim school that prioritises safety, confidence, growth and COMMUNITY.
Our purpose has always been bigger than teaching children how to swim. It’s about equipping them with life-saving skills, creating opportunities, and making a meaningful difference in the community we proudly serve.
We’re returning home with full hearts, fresh ideas, and an even bigger vision for what’s ahead. And we cannot wait to share it with you.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. The best is YET to come.
