Community is everything and it was wonderful to celebrate the Grade 1's 'People in our Community' event with so many wonderful partners - Premier Security, Westlake United Church Trust's Library and Caregivers teams and the amazing team (and the very popular fire truck!) from Lakeside Fire Station.

Thank you to our amazing partners, Tokai Library, RAV Rent A Vehicle and Premier Security. For four years, we've done our Mandela Day events together! Every year we come together, to connect, catch up and make a difference in the lives of young learners. To the Tokai Library and local community who supported the event - with your donations of glue, ice-cream tubs, bottle tops and time... we are so grateful for your support.

Looking forward to our Mandela Day event today at Tokai Library. Today we're aiming to make 67 literacy games for our little Grade 1 and 2 learners Westlake Westlake Primary School. Love this event that gives us a chance to have a cup of coffee and a catch up with our partners and supporters of the Changemaker Pathways program at Westlake Primary School.

The first week of school holidays is over! If you think that means teachers get a three-week break, think again. It's just a quick recharge before spending the next two weeks planning next term's curriculum.

For Xchange Connexion, we're busy prepping the next level of our Changemaker Pathways for Term 3 at Westlake Primary School. To get ready, our Grade 7 prefects wrapped up their last week of term with leadership training, preparing them to step up as school leaders sponsored by Prescient Foundation.

Term 3 will see our prefects taking on more duties and we are looking forward to sharing their journeys with you!

Today was such a wonderfully rewarding day!

After struggling at school, one of our little learners is now grasping his phonics. This progress has been made possible thanks to 1 on 1 time and an incredible partnership between his teachers and family and the Changemaker Pathway team which has been in play since mid-term 1.

It was such a special moment when he sat and built the group 1 phonics with play-dough AND sounded each one out. He's using his Grey Changemaker manual to learn all 44 phonics. We're hoping that by the end of Term 3 he'll be able to build words and basic sentences.
