TOPDOG SURF SCHOOL Top Dog Surf School offers individual surf lessons, group lessons, as well as our AU PAIR SURF SCHOOL. AA rates are charged separately at R3,27/km.

Lessons are personalised to your level of ability, and can be enjoyed by any age! PLEASE CALL CHRIS TO INQUIRE ABOUT PRICING OR TO MAKE A BOOKING. Top Dog Surf School offers you surf coaching, which include an introduction to surfing, a basic break down of safety on land and in the water, as well as the ABC structured lesson, approved by the ISA (International Surfing Association). Our coaches are qualified with Level 1 First Aid and lifeguard training, sanctioned by SSA (Surfing South Africa).

TOPDOG AU PAIR SURF SCHOOL runs at a maximum of 4 hours per session. All kilometres driven, are split between each individual depending on how many students per session. A session consists of:
1. Pick up from school or Beach (Starting point)
2. Surf coaching in and around the peninsula (False Bay/Atlantic)
3. Drop off at home. (Depending on destination.) On some days there are more than one student in the session. In this case, price is reduced by R50 per student, ie. Two students will then mean R300 per session, and so on. There are 3 options to choose from. AIR, BARREL and CARVE packages. INDIVIDUAL LESSONS Each lesson starts with a 30-minute warm-up on the beach, followed by an hour lesson in the water, where you will learn the basics of surfing. Discounted rates are available for groups of 7 or more people. TopDog also caters for kids parties, corporate functions and team building activities.

The consequences of a gnarly wipeout at this dredging Cape beachbreak are serious. A heavy situation nearby delivered a sobering reminder of this, plus the spot has a history of shattered bones and backs. It’s the thrill of getting a square barrel that keeps guys interested though.
