REMINDER

Over the past few months we have been reminded of the responsibility that comes with supporting young people in their academic journey.

At Virtus Brackenfell Academic Support Center our role has always been to provide a structured and respectful environment where learners can focus on their work, receive guidance when needed, and build strong study habits.

Each learner who attends the center is expected to take responsibility for their work and make the most of the support available to them. Every parent who places their trust in our center allows us to play a small but important role in their child’s education, and for that we are sincerely grateful.

Academic support is not only about completing tasks or preparing for assessments. It is about helping learners develop confidence, discipline, and the ability to work independently.

We remain proud of the learners who continue to apply themselves each day and thankful for the parents who support their progress.

Vanaf Woensdag 20 Augustus is Virtus Brackenfell Sentrum amptelik 'n selfoon-vrye sentrum.

Hoekom?

Omdat jou kind se ontwikkeling vir ons belangrik is. Ons wil afleiding beperk en die fokus plaas waar dit hoort — in die klaskamer, op leer en op mekaar. Onderwys is ons topprioriteit.

Ons bou aan ’n kultuur van nuuskierigheid, verbondenheid en konsentrasie — waardes wat leer bevorder en verhoudings versterk.

📱 Belangrik:
Leerders word vriendelik versoek om hul selfone by die huis te los.

Leerders wat aan buitemuurse aktiwiteite deelneem, mag hul selfoon voor sentrum begin by die voorkantoor inhandig.

Alle selfone moet duidelik gemerk wees.

Selfone sal veilig gestoor word en kan ná sentrum ure afgehaal word.

📵 NO CELLPHONE POLICY – FOCUS FIRST! 🎓
Starting Wednesday, 20 August, Virtus Brackenfell Centre will officially be a cellphone-free centre.

Why?
Because your child’s development matters to us. We aim to reduce distractions and place the focus where it belongs — in the classroom, on learning, and on each other. Education is our top priority.

We are building a culture of curiosity, connection, and concentration — values that enhance learning and strengthen relationships.

📱 Important:

Learners are kindly requested to leave their cellphones at home.
Learners participating in extramural activities may hand in their cellphone at the front office before the centre day starts.

All phones must be clearly labelled.

Phones will be stored securely and may be collected after the day.

Not only did they deliver outstanding performances, but they also showed wonderful sportsmanship, encouraging and uplifting one another throughout the event. 💙💪

What a day to remember! 📚✨Virtus Brackenfell took our curious Grade 1–7 learners on an educational adventure to the Brackenfell Library — and what a hit it was!

From wide-eyed Storytime with the wonderful librarians to a fun scavenger hunt between the stacks, our learners explored new worlds and found favourite picture books. They found quiet reading corners, interactive displays and a chance to go for ice-cream afterwards had everyone smiling. 😊

Huge thanks to the Brackenfell Library team for their warm welcome and for inspiring our learners to fall in love with reading. To the teachers — we couldn’t have done it without you! 👏
