30 YEARS OF SERVICE

Mr. Abraham Beukes has been acknowledged for his 30 years of service to the WCED this year.

Abraham has been a part of the school's ground staff since 1992. It is safe to say that he has been with EHS through many seasons.

When Abraham started working at EHS it was a mere four wall building, he saw the school grow and develop and he was an integral part of this process.

Abraham well known in and around the school, is always willing to help and he can fix just about anything.

We commend Mr. Beukes for his commitment to the school and we wish him many more happy years at EHS.

30 YEARS OF SERVICE

Mrs. Corinne Williams has been acknowledged for 30 years of service to the WCED this year.

Her teaching journey started in 1992 at Elsies River High School where she spent 7 years, joining the EHS family in 1999.

Mrs. Williams is currently the Head of English where her passion for the language shows daily.

EHS is privileged to have such an experienced and motivated educator as part of our team.

We as a school are very proud of Mrs. Williams and wish her all the best as she continues her journey.

The Knowledge Hub, our computer collaboration center has become so popular and is fully booked for interactive lessons. We saw the need create another option for learners to have devices in their classrooms and access to technology. EHS has therefore acquired a bank of devices with a charging trolley that will be delivered to the teachers class for lessons when required. Thank you to the SGB for making this possible.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES- Blood donors

During our most recent blood donors clinic held on the 27th of October 2023 we exceeded our target of units collected with 57 people successfully donating, 30 of which were first time donors.

During the September holiday Kyra Taylor, Kyra Nagel, Tatum Rautenbach and Kayla Davids went on tour to the Netherlands where they participated in a hockey tournament. These girls were part of a 30-player squad chosen from over 1200 players.

ACADEMICS- Drama

We are extremely proud of our talented learners. The before and after roller coaster of emotions show it all for the Grade 12 Dramatic Arts class of 2023 as they completed their FINAL National Senior Certificate performance examination on Friday, 15 September.

RCL INITIATIVE

On Friday the 8th of September Isabella Kabeya and the RCL organized a massive, canned food collection drive.

The goal of the collection was to plan, organize and execute a project in order to be more involved in uplifting the community.

Approximately 950-1000 items were collected and then donated to various charities, which included:

Locals helping locals
St. Marks Methodists Church Edgemead
NG Kerk Bothasig

All the breakfast items were donated to Bothasig High for the school's breakfast program.
