Vandag neem ons skool se sewe Robotika-spanne deel aan die streekskompetisie van die World Robot Olympiad by Curro Durbanville Hoërskool.

After months of preparation, the real challenge begins. During the two-hour competition, teams face intense pressure as they work against the clock to solve complex challenges, adapt their strategies, and programme their robots with precision. Every decision counts, and teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance are put to the ultimate test.

Hierdie leerders het ure op ure ingesit om voor te berei, vaardighede te ontwikkel en as spanne saam te werk. Ons is ongelooflik trots op hulle en wens hulle alle sterkte toe terwyl hulle ons skool met trots verteenwoordig.

SWEMPRESTASIE

Baie geluk aan Rhuan Stander met 'n uitstekende prestasie tydens 'n swemgala op 25 Julie!

Met vasberadenheid, harde werk en 'n passie vir swem het Rhuan in al vyf sy items eerste plek behaal – 'n besondere prestasie waarop hy met reg trots kan wees.

Mag hierdie prestasie die begin wees van nog vele hoogtepunte in jou swemloopbaan. Ons is ongelooflik trots op wat jy bereik het en wens jou alle voorspoed toe vir die pad wat voorlê.

Baie geluk, Rhuan – jy laat ons met trots glimlag!

LYFPLANKRYPRESTASIE

Baie geluk aan Jean-Luc du Plessis, Willem Kruger en Ben Vivier, wat gekies is om die Wes-Kaap te verteenwoordig tydens die 2026 Suid-Afrikaanse Lyfplankrykampioenskap!

Dit is 'n merkwaardige prestasie en 'n welverdiende beloning vir julle harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en toewyding. Julle keuring getuig van die talent en passie waarmee julle die sport aanpak.

Mag hierdie geleentheid gevul wees met ongelooflike ervarings, nuwe herinneringe en groot sukses. Ons wens julle alle sterkte toe vir die kampioenskap en weet dat julle die Wes-Kaap én ons skool met trots sal verteenwoordig.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op elkeen van julle. Baie geluk en geniet elke oomblik van hierdie besondere mylpaal!

KARATE ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulations to Liam Smith on being selected to represent the Western Province Karate Team!

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to Liam's dedication, discipline, and hard work. Being chosen to represent the province is an honour, and we are incredibly proud of his accomplishment.

Liam will represent Western Province at the Regional Championships in September. We wish him every success and know he will make both his team and our school proud.

Well done, Liam! Your Van Riebeeckstrand Primary family is cheering you on every step of the way.

HOCKEY ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulations to Hailey de Jager on her outstanding hockey achievements!

Hailey was recently selected to represent the PSI Northern Knights Black Team in the U11 division – a wonderful accomplishment that reflects her hard work and dedication to the sport.

During the June holidays, Hailey also competed in the Salt Rona Hockey 5s Tournament, held at DF Akademie, where she was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for her team.

We are incredibly proud of Hailey and wish her every success as she continues to grow and excel in hockey!

GYMNASTICS ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulations to Morgan Thomas on her outstanding achievement at the Western Cape Gymnastics Championships, held in Saldanha on 27 June 2026.

Morgan delivered an excellent performance and was awarded a silver medal. This is a wonderful accomplishment and a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and hard work.

We are incredibly proud of you, Morgan, and wish you every success in your future gymnastics journey.

HOKKIEPRESTASIE

Baie geluk aan Ava Craucamp met haar uitstekende prestasie tydens die Nasionale Binnehuise Hokkietoernooi wat van 3 tot 5 Julie plaasgevind het.

Ava het die o.11 Northern Knights Rooi-span met trots verteenwoordig, waar sy en haar span 'n uitstekende tweede plek behaal het. Hierdie prestasie getuig van harde werk, toewyding, spanwerk en deursettingsvermoë.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op Ava en wens haar alle voorspoed toe met haar toekomstige binnenshuise hokkie-avonture. Mag hierdie prestasie die eerste van vele wees!

Baie geluk, Ava! Hou aan om uit te blink.

SWEMPRESTASIE

Baie geluk aan Christiaan Basson en Hanroux Pottas met hul uitstekende deelname aan die Wes-Kaap Kortbaan Swemkampioenskappe, wat van 16 tot 19 Julie plaasgevind het.

Wat hierdie prestasie nóg meer besonders maak, is dat albei leerders in die o.13-ouderdomsgroep meegeding het, al is hulle slegs 11 jaar oud. Dit getuig van buitengewone talent, harde werk, deursettingsvermoë en die moed om hulself teen ouer deelnemers te meet.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op julle prestasie en die wyse waarop julle julself en ons skool verteenwoordig het. Mag hierdie slegs die begin wees van nog vele suksesverhale in julle swemloopbane.
