Talfalah Primary is the oldest Muslim primary school in South. Learners from the areas of Sherwood P Mr Isaacs served as principal until 1977.
Talfalah Primary operated as a Madrassa school since 1912, it was in 1916 that the Madrassa was converted into a secular school. Mr Moosa Behardien was appointed as the school’s first principal with a small staff of 3 teachers from its humble premises in Draper Street, Claremont. In the 1930’s the school was thriving with such well-known teachers as the late Shakoer Toefy, the late Hassiem Edeross

Today, International Youth Day is celebrated around the world to recognise the potential of youth as active partners in global society. Youth have decided at the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021 (EYF): This year's Youth Day is themed ""Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health".
This is to highlight the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on human health, the environment and food systems. They emphasised the need for young people to make informed food choices by learning more about the healthiest and most sustainable options for individuals and the environment worldwide. (cf. UN.Org)
Through our Play Fair for the Environment programme, we raise awareness among youth about the responsible use of natural resources and the impact of pollution on the human body and the environment.

Heute wird auf der ganzen Welt der Internationale Tag der Jugend gefeiert, um das Potenzial der Jugend als aktive Partner in der globalen Gesellschaft zu würdigen. Mit unseren ""Play Fair for the Environment""-Umweltprogrammen sensibilisieren wir die Jugend für einen bewussten Umgang mit natrülichen Ressourcen und für die Auswirkungen von Umweltverschmutzung auf den menschlichen Körper und die Umgebung.

More than 1000 pupils and over 500 teachers in the Western Cape have covid-19. The Western Cape reported 3 918 new cases in the last 24 hours, the highest number of virus cases in the country.
Sixteen schools had to close this week to be disinfected. Department of Education spokesperson, Bronagh Hammond, says reports indicate that virus cases in northern schools are believed to be out of control.
