Tribute to Joshua Davids (16 May 2011 – 08 December 2022)
We had the privilege of having Joshua at Noah’s Ark from 2014 to 2018 when he proudly graduated from the Grade R class. He was part of the Early Impact Program for Down Syndrome children, hosted by Noah’s Ark.
Joshua touched the lives of each staff member and teacher with his gentle disposition and friendly approach. He loved giving hugs (Joshua hugs were the best!) Joshua’s approach to life as a young child was one of love and laughter, despite the immense challenges he faced. He loved playing boisterous rough and tumble games with his peers and had this infectious laugh whenever he was having fun.
He enjoyed playing ball games and impressed us with his excellent ball skills. He was very strong, even from an early age, and displayed this through climbing and crossing the monkey bars regularly. His favourite however was rolling and stacking the tyres in the garden.
Joshua worked best in the class activities when assisted by one of his buddies and was always very proud of his work once completed. His approach to schoolwork was done at a steady pace and at his own time, he taught us not only patience but also to slow down, relax and enjoy the moment. Joshua was shy around strangers and would often cover his face when the attention was on him. However, to those of us that took the time to get to know Joshua our lives were the richer for it. Even though speaking was a challenge for Joshua, he showed us that love is a language that can be spoken loudly and clearly through actions.
We wish to pass on to Joshua’s family our deepest condolences at the loss of your precious Joshua. Our prayers are with you at this time, may you know and experience the peace and comfort that only our heavenly father can bring.

In loving memory of Daniel Taft, who attended Noah’s Ark with his twin brother Aiden from 2006 – 2008. Daniel went to be with the Lord he loved on 29 October 2020. His three class teachers (two of whom are no longer at the school) share their memories of his time at our preschool.
“Daniel was in my Lower Deck class at Noah’s Ark when he was 2-3 years old. I remember him as being curious, fearless and bold. He was generally a happy boy and loved being physical which continued as he developed into a strong sportsman in primary and high school. Daniel sometimes struggled with his temper (as most 2 year old children do!) but also developed an incredible soft, caring side even when he was little. I taught Daniel a long time ago, but I will never forget his strength, determination and enthusiasm for life. My prayers are with his family.” Sharleen Haupt
“Dear Daniel, I may have only taught you and Aiden for a year but I remember you both so well. Daniel was such a lively student, always participated in all discussions and activities, full of life and energy. Your absence will surely be felt. My sincerest condolences to the Taft family Much love your ex Upper Deck teacher Mrs Karen Meyer (now Dunlop) “
“I taught Daniel in Middle Deck. I remember him as a feisty four year old with a larger than life personality. Three things stood out for me about Daniel:, his energy, enthusiasm and endearing nature..
Daniel was a real livewire who was physically strong and loved rough and tumble games with his peers outdoors – sitting still did not rank among his favourite activities! He was disarmingly honest, even admitting his misdemeanours!
Daniel embraced life with great gusto and exuberance. He enjoyed chatting in ring time, and tackled all tasks with characteristic enthusiasm. Daniel loved art, and was very proud of his masterpieces,
Daniel was an unforgettable character who won his way into my heart with his caring nature, beautiful smile .and great sense of fun. Our then principal, Sandie Mazzolini remembered how his love language to her was to greet her and then tell her “Sandie, you’re my boy!” “ (Debbie Armitage)
Daniel will be remembered with great affection by all those who taught and knew him at Noah’s Ark. As a staff, our love and prayers are with Elsabet, Douglas, Aiden, St John and Devon.

Well worth a read. Some great insights here. Enjoy the holiday! Howard
Reasons Today's Kids Are Bored, Entitled, Impatient with Few Real Friends We have the best intentions - to make our kids happy - but the ability to learn delayed gratification is one of the key factors for future success.
Dear Parents. Linda Anderson and myself (Jolene Bonney) will be in the courtyard tomorrow morning serving takeaway coffee and tea. The purpose of it is just a quick meet and great. So, don’t panic if you are rushing off to work, we just thought it would be a great way to start the term and get to know each other. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning. If we don’t see you tomorrow I am sure we will get a gap later in the term to chat.
