A school of possibilities. 🌈

When children are given the space to explore, question, imagine and try things in their own way, learning becomes something they experience — not simply something they are taught.

Every climb, every question, every idea and every “what if?” is an opportunity to discover something new.

As Loris Malaguzzi reminds us, “The wider the range of possibilities we offer children… the richer their experiences.”

And that is at the heart of what we believe at Capella. 💛

🌍✈️ Grade 2 took us on a journey around the world!

This term, our Grade 2 learners chose countries to explore, diving into their history, languages, national symbols, famous landmarks and what makes each place unique.

But the learning didn’t stop at the books! 🇧🇬🇲🇦🇹🇭🇨🇳🇦🇺🇫🇷🇮🇪 Each learner became a country expert and prepared a traditional national dish to share with the class.

From apple tart and hamburgers to cottage pie, chicken noodle soup, spring rolls and so much more, our classroom was filled with delicious smells and even more fascinating facts! 🍎🥧🥢

What a wonderful way to discover that learning has no borders! 🌎💛

Listening Matters 🌿

At Capella House, we believe children have important things to say.

When their questions, ideas, opinions and theories are genuinely heard and valued, children begin to understand that their voices matter. They develop confidence in who they are, strengthen their sense of agency, and learn that their ideas can shape the world around them.

For us, listening is more than hearing—it is a way of showing children respect. 💚

“When children’s opinions, thoughts and ideas are heard and valued, it supports their emerging identity, nurtures their intelligence, and demonstrates respect.”
— Sally Haughey

🧵✨ Little hands, big ideas!

Our Grade 1s designed, stitched and stuffed their very own creations — following their ideas, learning through the process and discovering the joy of making something with their own hands. 🧸💛

A skill for life, built through curiosity, creativity and confidence.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and former colleague, Emily.

Although her time at Capella House was brief, the impact she made was lasting. She filled our days with laughter, shared endless stories, and was part of the journey of teaching our very first Senior Phase together.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Rest peacefully, Emily. You will always be remembered. 🤍
