2/2 Wendy combined the print with intricate cutouts of paper flowers and birds to compliment the Art Nouveau style and added background in serviettes, handmade papers, gold leaf, silver leaf and Dala Metal paint to create her vision. This art form is called Potichomania and is practiced by a well known artist in America called John Derian. He has a few design studios and an online retail shop.

I will be introducing my students to a 3D form of this beautiful art next year. Can't wait 😊

This week's workshop was enjoyed by a wonderful group of enthusiastic decorative artists! Elna travelled all the way from Middleburg near Jo'burg to attend this workshop. Her talented family own a decor store and are much in demand for their painted furniture using Annie Sloan Chalk paints. Elna wanted to improve her decorative art skills by learning new ways with Chalk Paint. She will be using the techniques learnt on the picture frame to add decorative details to her furniture.

Our latest workshop using Skim/Artist's Paste with beautiful antique lace to embellish custom made picture frames. To complete the frames we matched the picture inserts with Annie Sloan paints, and embellished them with the illuminating Treasure Gold Wax. So feminine! ❤️
