It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Oguyonke was stabbed to death on Friday at around 7:00. Our thoughts are with his parents, Miss Van Zyl and the 8C class and his teachers.
The principal will arrange counseling for those who need it.

Please pray for his family

"Young people aren't the leaders of tomorrow. They are the leaders of today and tomorrow "

Yesterday the Kraaifontein Youth Unite leaders showed us what they have learned about leadership.

On Monday 26 August 2019, people were evicted from the Klein Akker farm in Kraaifontein. These people had to live on the street for an entire week. They are currently on another farm, Mesco farm, on the Bottelary road.

Although they are doing much better now, the trauma that the kids had to endure was somewhat overlooked. The Kraaifontein Youth Unite Team assisted in this regard, they had a fun day for the kids to allow these traumatized kids just to be kids.

Protesting with a difference!
When trying to find solutions for problems,it is important to look at the causes.

It is because of this understanding our learners decided to go out in the kraaifontein community and ask men to stand in solidarity with them.
The learners provided all men with an information pamphlet which contained psychosocial resources such as rehabilitation centres and counseling facilities to help deal with their issues.

The men were also provided with a blue ribbon to show that they support our cause.

UBUNTU:
the belief that we are defined by our compassion and kindness towards others.

The Kraaifontein Youth Unite team serving the community.

After learning about the by-law that enables the homeless to be fined, our learners came to the conclusion that the focus should rather be on the root causes of poverty. They have thus decided to go out and show homeless people some compassion.

Session 2: Activism, community work and the structure of government.
The aim was to help learners to start thinking critically about problems they are faced with.

The first session of the Kraaifontein Youth Unite project.
The program aims to empower learners so that they don't become victims of the circumstances, helping them discover that they are powerful agents of change.

Our learners are excited to take action and go out in the community and be the change.

As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
