💯🎉 Hip, Hip, Hooray... It's Our 100th Day of School! 🎉💯

What an incredible milestone to celebrate! Last Monday, our little emplorers marked 100 amazing days of learning, growing, exploring, and making memories together❤️

To make the day even more special, the children came to school dressed as if they were 100 years old! From grey hair and glasses to walking sticks and slippers, the creativity was absolutely wonderful and brought plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the day. 👵👴

We are so proud of how much they have learned and grown since the start of the year.

🚦🦺 SAFETY THEME WRAP-UP 🦺🚦

What an exciting and educational two weeks we've had at First Steps Daycare! ❤️

Last Friday, we wrapped up our Safety Theme by reinforcing the important safety concepts our little learners have been exploring. Through stories, discussions, role play, games, creative activities, and hands-on experiences, the children learned about making safe choices and staying safe at home, at school, on the road, and in the community.

Together, we explored:
🔥 Basic fire safety
🚸 Road safety
🧑‍🚒 Safe and unsafe people
🚨 Emergency procedures
🏫 What to do in an emergency

The children also enthusiastically participated in a fire drill and practiced crossing the road safely, helping to build confidence and awareness in real-life situations.

⭐ Weekly Highlight ⭐
One of the biggest highlights was decorating our very own **Traffic Light wafer biscuits!** 🚦🍪 The children had so much fun icing and decorating their delicious treats while developing creativity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early mathematical concepts through counting and sorting their decorations.

🩴✨ Slipper Day 2026 ✨🩴

Our First Steps Daycare children had so much fun as we proudly supported the Reach For A Dream Slipper Day fundraiser on Friday, 29 May! 💙

The school was filled with colourful slippers, happy smiles, laughter, and lots of excitement as our little ones proudly wore their favourite fluffiest slippers for a wonderful cause. 🌈👣

A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful parents and families for purchasing Slipper Day stickers and supporting this worthy cause. Your generosity helps Reach For A Dream continue making dreams come true for brave children facing life-threatening illnesses across South Africa. 💫

Together, we showed our children that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others. 💙

What a fun and important week learning all about safety! The children explored how to stay safe at home 🏠 and school 🏫, fire safety 🔥, stranger danger 🚫, what to do in an emergency 🚨, and how to help someone who is hurt using a first aid kit 🩹.

Through play, stories, and hands-on activities, they built confidence and important life skills 🌟
