ππ MEET THE TEACHER β TEACHER SEREN π π
Some teachers teach from books. Some teach through activities. And then there are teachers like Teacher Seren β who teaches through love, prayer, laughter, and the biggest heart imaginable. π₯°
Before most of us have even had our first cup of coffee β, Teacher Seren has already opened the school, prepared breakfast, sorted shopping, planned menus, and welcomed little arms running in for their very first cuddle of the day. π€
If there was an award for "Most Hugs Received Before 8am," she would win it every year! ππ
Teacher Seren is also the incredible leader behind the Women's Ministry at her church and the heart behind Women of Valour. Her warning label says it all:
β οΈ "Beware... this one prays for you!" β οΈ
And trust us... she really does! Whether it's a child, a teacher, a family, a challenge, a celebration, or even a missing lunchbox, chances are Teacher Seren has already prayed about it. ππ
Working alongside the Big Fish Little Fish family for many years, Seren may be Michelle's sister, but she has become family to all of us. Her love for God shines through everything she does, from leading early morning praise and worship to sharing God's love with the children in a way that is gentle, joyful, and real. βοΈβ¨
The children absolutely adore her. In fact, Teacher Seren can walk into any classroom at any time and somehow a child will magically appear wanting a cuddle, a chat, or simply to hold her hand. β€οΈ
Her favourite part of working with children is the unsolicited love they give, but we think the children might say their favourite part is the unsolicited love they get from her! π₯Ή
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." β Proverbs 31:25 β¨
Thank you, Teacher Seren, for your faith, your kindness, your prayers, your laughter, and the love you pour into every child, family, and staff member. We are incredibly blessed to have you as part of our Big Fish Little Fish family. ππ

πβ¨ Our little Angelfish are PAINTING THE TOWN... well, the EARTH today! π¨
Angelfish friends π π have been exploring our beautiful planet β learning all about continents, oceans, and our very own home, South Africa! πΏπ¦
With paintbrushes in hand and concentration faces ON, our little explorers turned blank pages into bright blue oceans π and lush green continents π³ β and let's just say, they take their "world domination" very seriously (in the best, most adorable way)! π
There were paint-covered fingers, proud little smiles, and even a few earths that looked a tad more like blueberries than planets β but hey, that's all part of growing geniuses! π§ π
We're so proud of how our Angelfish are learning to love and care for the world around them β one paintbrush stroke at a time! ππ
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it" β Psalm 24:1 πβ¨ What a privilege to teach our little ones to cherish His creation!

π Big Fish Little Fish β Guppies Are BUSY! π
πΆπ Warning: Tiny geniuses at work! ππΆ
The Guppies classroom has been officially taken OVER β and honestly? We are HERE for it! π
Our little Superman decided today was THE day to master every button, k**b and latch on the busy boardβ¦ and then looked up at us like "Yeah, I've got this. No big deal." ππͺ
(That smile in pic 5 is going to melt your Monday, we PROMISE.) π
Our curly-haired queen discovered the golden bell and has decided that ringing it is her full-time job now. ππ No complaints from us β honestly, her commitment is inspiring.
And our little butterfly girl in pink? She took one look at that xylophone and said "This is my stage now." πΌβ¨ Then she looked up at us in pic 8 with that GIGGLE that basically said "Did you hear that? I'm basically Mozart." πΉπ
Gears turning. Bells ringing. Beads sliding. Shapes sorting. Fingers working OVERTIME. π€
This is what learning through play looks like in the Guppies classroom β pure joy, deep focus, and tiny fingers doing the most incredible things! π π
We are SO proud of our busy little fish! πβ€οΈ
Drop a β€οΈ if your little one would dive straight into this busy board!

ππ MEET THE AMAZING MATHAPELO... BETTER KNOWN AS GLADYS! ππ
Today we are so excited to introduce one of the true treasures of Big Fish Little Fish β Teacher Mathapelo, lovingly known as Gladys! πβ¨
If you've ever met Gladys, you'll know that her smile arrives before she does. π Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit light up every room she walks into.
Gladys is one of the proudest moms you'll ever meet. π She loves sharing stories and videos of her children, and the same love, pride, and care she has for them is the love she pours into every child who walks through our doors. She celebrates their milestones, comforts them through their tears, and cheers them on every step of the way. π
The greatest testament to the impact she has on little lives? Children who have left our school still come back to visit her! π₯Ή Families adore her, children adore her, and honestly... so do we! β€οΈ
Gladys doesn't just care with a piece of her heartβshe cares with her whole heart. She gives 100% of herself every single day, and it shows. π»
Need a teacher? Gladys has it covered. π©π½βπ«
Need a singer? π€ Gladys is already humming a tune.
Need a helping hand in the kitchen? π² She's there.
Need a friend? π€ She's already beside you.
Need someone to step into any role and make it look easy? That's Gladys!
You know the saying "Jack of all trades"? Well, we think Gladys rewrote it:
β¨ Master of all trades and full of grace! β¨
And let's be honest... if kindness were an Olympic sport, she'd be bringing home the gold medal every year! π₯π
We truly believe that God places special people in our lives at just the right time, and we have no doubt that Gladys is one of those people. She is a blessing to our children, our families, and our team. ππ
Please help us celebrate this incredible woman with a heart of gold! π₯°

𧩠Making connections between spoken and written language

π£οΈβ¨ Language is SEA-riously fun in our Montessori 3β6 Classroom! β¨π£οΈ
Did you know that language development is happening all around us every single day? From listening and speaking to reading and writing, our little learners are building the skills they need to communicate, express themselves, and understand the world around them. ππ
In our Montessori Language Area, children learn through hands-on activities that make learning exciting and meaningful! Here are just a few examples:
π€ Sandpaper Letters β Children trace letters while learning their sounds, helping to develop phonetic awareness and pre-writing skills.
πΌοΈ Object and Picture Matching β Children match objects to pictures, building vocabulary, concentration, and language comprehension.
βοΈ Moveable Alphabet β Little learners use letters to build words before they can write them, encouraging reading, spelling, and confidence.
π Benefits of Language Learning:
βοΈ Expands vocabulary
βοΈ Strengthens communication skills
βοΈ Builds confidence
βοΈ Develops listening and concentration
βοΈ Prepares children for reading and writing
βοΈ Encourages creativity and self-expression

π¨π Colour Matching Fun in the Clownfish Class! ππ¨
Our little Clownfish learners had so much fun exploring colours through a hands-on Montessori matching activity! π β¨
The children carefully selected coloured objects and matched them to the corresponding colour blocks. This simple yet meaningful activity encourages children to learn through discovery, exploration, and repetitionβan important part of the Montessori philosophy. π‘π
Through colour matching, the children are developing:
π¨ Colour recognition
π Visual discrimination skills
π§ Concentration and focus
π€² Fine motor coordination
π Problem-solving abilities
π Confidence and independence
In the Montessori environment, children learn best by actively engaging with materials. Activities like these allow them to work at their own pace while building important foundation skills for future learning. π±π
We are so proud of our Clownfish friends for their hard work and enthusiasm! ππ
π Let's make this interactive! π
Tell us in the comments: What is your child's favourite colour? π¨β€οΈππππ
