🎡 Plattekloof Market & Carnival is in full swing at Riverside College! 🎠✨

FunlandSA has transformed our grounds into a celebration of rides, games, food and family fun — with something for thrill-seekers, little adventurers and everyone in between.

🎟️ Entrance fees
Children under 12: R20
Ages 12 and older: R50

🎢 Wristbands
R300 per person for selected Funland rides
Valid from opening time until 20:30
Wristband sales close at 18:30

Please note: The Hammer and game stalls are not included in the wristband.

🎠 Single-ride tickets
Tickets range from R25 to R100 per ride, depending on the attraction.

The carnival is closed today, Tuesday, 22 September, but the fun continues on Wednesday, 23 September, from 16:00. Please see the event schedule in the images for all operating dates and times.

For everyone’s safety, no alcohol, drugs or illegal substances are permitted on site. All visitors are subject to security screening, and children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.

Let Children be children …..

There is something we believe very strongly at Riverside College:

Children should still be allowed to be children.

Our children are growing up in a world that is becoming faster, louder and more digital by the day. Screens are everywhere. Social media is entering their lives younger and younger, and the pressure to grow up quickly has never been greater.

At Riverside College, particularly in our Primary School, we have deliberately chosen a different approach.

We believe in a childhood where technology has its place — but does not replace teachers, books, conversation, imagination, friendships and play.

We believe children should run outside, get dirty, play sport, laugh with their friends, learn good manners, greet adults, respect their teachers and understand that family values still matter.

We believe education is about far more than marks.

It is about raising confident, capable young people who know how to communicate, how to behave, how to think for themselves and how to treat other people.

From Grade 00, starting at just four years old, through to Grade 7, our learners grow up in a school environment where they are known, supported and encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally — without rushing them through childhood.

The world will introduce them to technology soon enough.

For now, we would also like them to climb, run, read, talk, create, imagine, make friends and simply be children.

That is the childhood we still believe in.
