β½ π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ What a wonderful way to bring our World Cup to life!
Our Grade 2 children have been assigned to Scotland as part of their Soccer World Cup journey, and today they enjoyed a very special experience. Their teacher arranged for Simon Workman, a talented bagpiper, to visit the school and share the rich traditions of Scotland with us.
Simon generously gave his time to explain how the bagpipes are designed, the breathing techniques required to play them, and the skill and practice needed to master this unique instrument. He also treated us to a wonderful performance that brought so much joy and excitement to our school community.
Mr Carroll also shared some interesting trivia with the children, including the Afrikaans name for a bagpipe, a doedelsak.
A huge thank you to Simon for making learning so engaging, memorable, and fun!
