WUCT’s AGM - 11 July 2026

Our AGM was held on Saturday 11 July in the hall. It was well attended by funders, supporters, friends of the Trust and members of the Westlake community.

We were entertained by some of our Grade R’s who performed a beautiful gospel dance on the stage.

David Walsh presented the Chairman’s report, as well as WUCT’s audited annual financial report.

Pieter Greyling, our General Manager, spoke about the various activities that have taken place over the year.

The various heads of departments - Sister Louette McCallum of Health and Wellness, Monique Smit of Emmanuel Educare Centre and Amy Claasen of Child Care & Protection, all presented their reports.

Pieter introduced a new staff member, a qualified librarian called Ennie Molefe, who has transformed one of the meeting rooms into an amazing library for the children of Westlake. She has categorised all the books, which have been donated by various schools, churches and members of Ward 71 community. The children have their own membership cards and are all very excited to have a library in Westlake.

There was an opportunity for funders and supporters to introduce themselves and speak about their contribution to the Trust, as well as various community members to speak about the work they are doing in the village.

After the formalities, refreshments were served.

It was a special event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

❤️VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATION❤️

On Friday 13th February WUCT hosted a Valentine’s Day lunch for the Elderly of Westlake Village. The lunch was funded by Rotary Club Constantia.

65 elderly persons attended, dressed in red and white. They were treated to a fashion show by young grade R children from Emmanuel Educare Centre. Poems and scripture was read and a short inspirational message was delivered by Sister Louette McCallum, our resident nurse.

Lunch was a delicious local dish Achi (chicken and rice and potatoes). The Rotary president Sandy Whitehead and Rotarian Gordon Slater also attended.

It was a special time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. A huge thank you to Constantia Rotary Club for their incredible kindness and generosity towards the elderly people of Westlake.
