✨ A little bit of magic at Micklefield! 📚✨

We were delighted to welcome the author (who is a Micklefield Mom)and the illustrator of ‘Magic in My Marks’ to Micklefield!

Our girls had the wonderful opportunity to meet the creative minds behind the book, listen to the story being brought to life and learn more about the inspiration behind the words and illustrations.

There is something so special about meeting the people behind a story and seeing how imagination can become a book. Thank you for sharing your creativity, passion and a little bit of magic with our girls! 💕✨

What an evening of expression!

Our Micklefield Arts Collective came to life as we gathered to celebrate the creativity, talent and imagination of our girls.

From beautiful artwork and poetry to class performances, solo instrumental pieces, live portrait painting and our exciting Art Auction, the evening was a wonderful reminder of the incredible creative talent within our school.

Our exhibition was filled with colour, creativity and the buzz of a community coming together to celebrate the arts. 💗

A heartfelt thank you to our girls, teachers, families and everyone who helped make the evening such a special celebration of art, music and expression.

Growing Kindness 🌱💗

Our Grade 0 and 1 girls spent the morning at SAPS Claremont, getting their hands dirty as they helped create a beautiful therapy garden.

With lots of enthusiasm, teamwork and little hands hard at work, the girls helped create a space designed to bring calm, comfort and a little joy to those who visit it.

A wonderful morning of giving back and learning that kindness can grow in the most beautiful ways. 💕🌱

Growing a Garden of Care 🌱

This morning, our Grade 0 and 1 girls visited SAPS Claremont to create a special therapy garden.

With little hands, big hearts and plenty of enthusiasm, the girls got stuck into planting and creating a space that will bring some peace, colour and joy to those who use it.

We are so proud of our youngest girls for showing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💕

Building Understanding: From Ancient Civilisations to Today

Our Grade 5 girls are taking their History learning beyond the textbook as they explore Ancient Egypt, Mapungubwe and the world we live in today.

Through research and analysis, the girls have been comparing these societies across a range of fascinating areas, including trade, social hierarchy, belief systems, inventions and geography. They are learning to identify similarities and differences, interpret information and build connections between the past and the present.

Now, they are bringing their learning to life by building their own historical dioramas, transforming their research into creative, three-dimensional representations of the societies they have studied.

This is academic learning with purpose: developing research skills, critical thinking, creativity and the ability to make meaningful connections. These are the skills that prepare our girls not just for their next grade, but for life.

Building Thinkers for Life

Our Grade 6 girls have been digging deeper into history as they explore the impact of the diamond and gold rushes on the changing landscape of South Africa. They have been comparing mining in the 1800s with mining today, examining historical sources and considering the costs and rewards of extracting these valuable resources.

This hands-on historical enquiry has strengthened their skills in comparing, comprehending, working with sources and identifying key information, while encouraging them to look critically at the past and present.

What a wonderful morning celebrating our Grade 3 girls and all they have been learning!

Our girls proudly shared their knowledge, creativity and hard work with their parents, giving them a special glimpse into the busy and exciting world of Grade 3.

It was great to see their confidence shine as they shared their learning with such pride. We are proud of each and every one of them.
