Welcome to the African Teaching Interferometer project. You'll find here pictures and videos about the progress of the project.

Our goal is to build a robust instrument that can be used remotely in classrooms on the African continent for years to come. The dishes will be two 2.3m parabolas hooked up to equatorial mounts. The mounts of the telescopes are computerised and the receivers will be designed for 21cm observations. They will be coupled with a fast processor that will allow interferometric acquisition between the 2

She is Nadia Nadim. She was born in Afghanistan. Her father was killed by the Taliban when she was 11 and her family fled to Denmark in the back of a truck.
Nadia has scored nearly 200 goals in professional football and represented the Danish national team on 98 occasions.
She has finished medical school and is studying to become a reconstructive surgeon when her playing days are over.
She speaks 11 languages fluently and is on the Forbes list of the most powerful women in international sports.
If you want to show your daughter a role model, show Nadia Nadim. not the Kardashians ..

Kick off of Astronomy in Africa meeting today in Cape Town. Around 80 delegates from 20 countries plus several more participants online began deliberations on the future path for astronomy on the continent via the relaunch of the African Astronomical Society.
