Siyakhula Educare Center - Gugulethu

At the Siyakhula Educare Centre, despite the lack of resources, we are doing everything possible to ensure that our teachers can take their exams in the best conditions. Congratulations to Khumbula for her success!

Our teams were on holiday in July, work is slowly resuming at the crèche... New containers are coming soon!

CELEBRATION DAY at Siyakhula Educare Centre! We have been waiting for months for the containers to arrive and our wish has been granted!
Thank you to all the teams who are supporting us in this project, a big thank you to the CMA CGM who offered us these containers.

The adventure has only just begun since we are now going to renovate the containers in different rooms (kitchen, office, study rooms..), install the fences and more... But here is already a step forward that warms the heart, you should have seen how happy everyone on the spot was!

We would like to thank Cape Town Accueil for thinking of us at their "Cap Café Solidaire" of the Month of May. It was a great moment shared with all these people, it's always amazing for us to present our project and see that people are really sensitive to it.

Last night, Laurent Baffie's "TOC TOC" theatre performance was held at Reddam School by Le Clap to benefit our project to renovate the centre.
First of all, we would like to thank everyone for coming, we know you had an amazing time!

We also would like to say thank you to the school for its welcome, the premises are magnificent!

And last but not least, we would like to thank Le Clap in particular. The performance was really very well conducted and very very funny! The public laughed all the time!
Thank you for your commitment and your support. Your help will be extremely beneficial for the rest of our project. It really warms the heart to feel supported!

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you on this stage in a new play!

Despite the lack of equipment, the Siyakhula Educare Centre team tries every day to educate children.
Elethu (a little girl of 5 years old) was kind enough to share with us some pages of her little notebook.

CONSTRUCTION WORK!!!

That's it, our project is coming true! Our team of workers and about ten parents came on a Saturday morning to remove the old houses in order to make way for our containers offered by the CMA-CGM!

Only a few more weeks before the containers arrive!

We are very pleased to announce that the play "TOC TOC" will be presented for the benefit of our crèche by the French company "Le Clap" on April 11th!

Sports day last Friday with the meeting of all the Early Childhood Development Centres of Gugulethu!
The children enjoyed a few hours of sports and games!

We look forward to having a covered outdoor space at the crèche to allow us to organize more outdoor activities and games!

Last week was a really busy week at the Siyakhula Educare Centre!!
A few anonymous donors arrived on Tuesday with a lot of presents for us: toys, clothes, diapers, food... Thank you so much for your donations, it really helps us a lot! (Picture 1 and 2)

We decided to celebrate Valentine's Day. We organized a dress up day (all in red and white) and had a fun time drawing with the kids! (Picture 3, 4 and 5)

Yesterday, we bought some painting and try to teach something important to the kids.
Khumbala is explaining us that she: "was showing the kids the importance of body parts in order for them to learn what hands can do. With hands you can do a lot of things for example you can draw, you can bake, you can touch and feel".
Despite the lack of resources, the Siyakhula Educare Centre always try to find ways to teach something important to the kids. Please, help us to make our dream come true to improve the education of those children!!!!
