Horses do not respond to social masks, wealth, and status.... they can only feel and see only a person's internal state.

To have a companion that holds us accountable while helping us heal and evolve into our most authentic selves is a rare and beautiful gift.

It doesn't take fancy equipment to create a learning opportunity.

Plastic ponies for storytelling, sequencing, counting & language.
Pool noodles for balance, coordination & problem-solving.
Hula hoops for spatial awareness, movement & following instructions.
Beanbags for counting, sorting, memory & motor skills.
Cones for sequencing, colours, directions & planning.

At Equitots® , even a plastic pony and a few cones can become a maths lesson, a language activity, a memory challenge or a problem-solving exercise. The magic is in how we use them.

Lessons from Lene’s Tack Room 🐴

"A clean yard is an efficient yard. When everything has a place, you can find what you need when you need it."

Looking after your tack, grooming equipment and blankets and keeping them clean and in good condition is part of looking after your horse.

And those everyday jobs teach responsibility, respect, organisation and attention to detail in other areas of a childs life.

"What are these things on my legs?" Every horse, their first time in travel boots, it never gets old.

Loving horses and kids is a great place to start. But it’s only the beginning.

Because EAL sits at the intersection of two worlds and the magic happens when you know how to bring them together. Let us show you how, using the Equitots Model.

You have a keen understanding of horses and equine welfare.

You have a genuine understanding of children in terms of development, communication and that every child learns differently.

You have tenacity, you’re willing to keep trying, adapt your approach, rethink the activity and find another way when things don’t go according to plan.

You have a curious mind and are always asking why? What is the child communicating? What is the horse telling us? What else could this moment teach us?

Our next online course, An Introduction to EAL Facilitation, will be announced soon. We’re currently in session with a class that runs until the end of September.
