Hi All Rustybugs,
Two Rustybugs, Helen Timoney (Winter) and myself are part of a group which is helping Grade 3 and 4 children at a Homework Club in Delft, Cape Town, concentrating on English literacy. This year we suddenly have 11 Grade 3s and 14 Grade 4s. Is there anyone who has a Monday afternoon available and would like to join us? Send Helen or me a message if you are interested.
My aunt showed me these great old recipe books from Rustenburg. Anyone perhaps have an old copy they no longer want to keep/selling?? Would be nice to have one :)

Congratulations to the matriculants of 2022 who recently completed their NSC exams just a week ago. As you transition from your high school life into the world of adulthood we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

You might have left your shoes behind in true Rustenburg Girls tradition but your footprints will always be imprinted in the history books and memories of our school. Welcome to the Rustenburg Alumnae community, we look forward to being a part of the next steps of your journey.

28/11/2022

We welcome Ms Asonele Kotu to the Rustenburg family as the new Rustenburg Alumnae Coordinator. Her role is to ensure that there is constant communication, interactions and ongoing relationships between the Rustenburg alumnae and both the Junior and High schools. She will also work with both schools and the RA network facilitating events and fundraising activities.

“It's an exciting function for me personally because I get to experience the best of both worlds and find solutions to bring these worlds together through experiences and building of a network of current, past and future leaders that have come through Rustenburg Girls.”

Ms Kotu started her career in Marketing, Public Relations and fundraising in the NPO sector. She is also a menstrual health rights activist and a social entrepreneur.

“I want to be part of an intergenerational community that is contributing towards life-changing actions in the world, whether it's in the smallest communities or on a global stage. I want to celebrate, empower and help people find their feet in the world through supportive networks such as the alumnae where they can connect with like-minded individuals and feel part of something bigger.”

Listen to Rustenburg Alumna Kirsten Pienaar talk about her love for Opera.

What made this young South African fall in love with the art of opera Becoming part of the opera is not the usual aspiration for a 25-year-old South African, but it's exactly why Kirsten Pienaar shines the brightest.
