Call for all Master’s and Doctoral Law students to participate in the Student Engagement, Quality Assurance, and Student Support Workshops 2026.
The CHE published a Good Practice Guide on Student Engagement in Quality Assurance and Promotion, as well as the new Quality Assurance Framework.
The project was developed to begin implementing the Good Practice Guide while strengthening internal quality assurance, as required by the QAF.
The M and D workshops' purpose is to enhance the quality of postgraduate support services. The objectives are as follows:
1. Leveraging Alumni Experience: Alumni provide holistic insights from their entire postgraduate journey to enhance quality assurance processes.
2. Enhancing Student Engagement: Involving alumni promotes authentic student engagement beyond compliance, fostering genuine partnerships.
3. Supporting Institutional Improvement: Alumni feedback helps identify systemic barriers and supports evidence-based institutional planning and audits.
4. Fostering Community and Mentorship: Workshops build professional networks and mentorship (post-doctoral fellowships) opportunities, enriching the research culture.

Student Voice: An Inspiring Journey
Meet Candice van Der Rheede
At the age of 50, Candice achieved a major milestone by completing her matric last year, proving that determination has no age limit. She is now proudly pursuing her first year of an LLB degree, turning her dreams into reality.
Candice chose Unisa because she was not previously afforded the opportunity to study.
Today, she is not only a student but also the Founder and CEO of the Western Cape Missing Persons Unit NPC, making a meaningful impact in her community.
Her message to fellow students:
🌟 Never settle for second best.
🌟 Never give up.
🌟 It’s never too late to achieve your goals.
