Our client school in Abu Dhabi is urgently looking for a Kindergarten teacher (ages 3 - 5) to join their team.

Start date: January 2027

You must:
- Hold a B Ed in Early Childhood Development / Foundation Phase
- Have 2 - 3+ years’ post-qualification Early Years teaching experience
- Hold a South African passport
- Be able to travel on single status

What do Middle East schools look for in High School teachers?

If you're considering teaching in the Middle East in 2027, it’s important to understand that High School recruitment can be quite specific.

Schools aren't simply looking for qualified teachers - they want to see a strong match between your qualification, subject specialism, phase and recent teaching experience.

So, what will they be looking at?

Relevant qualification:
- A Bachelor of Education or a relevant degree with a PGCE.

Subject specialism:
- You should be qualified in the subject you teach.

High School experience:
- Ideally 3 - 4 years of post-qualification High School teaching experience.

Phase experience:
- Recent experience teaching High School grades, generally Grades 8 - 12.

Strong references:
- Recent professional references from your current and previous schools.

International curriculum experience:
- Previous or current experience teaching an international curriculum can be a definite advantage.

For High School teachers, what you are qualified to teach and what you are currently teaching really matters when schools shortlist candidates.

We expect High School recruitment to be a big focus for 2027, particularly across English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, PE, Music and Art.

High School teachers – 2027 starts now!

If teaching in the Middle East is on your radar for August 2027, now is the time to start preparing.

Experienced High School teachers are especially sought after across the region, particularly teachers who are qualified and currently teaching within their specialist subject area.

As schools begin planning for the 2027 academic year, these are some of the High School subject areas we expect to be recruiting for:

- English
- Maths
- Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry)
- Social Studies
- PE
- Music
- Art

For High School positions, schools will be looking for subject-qualified teachers with relevant High School teaching experience. Your qualification, subject specialism, the grades you currently teach, and your post-qualification experience will all be important.

Vacancies will be advertised as they are confirmed, but registering early means we already know who you are and what you teach when the right position comes through.
