A GLIMPSE INTO OUR 10-YEAR CELEBRATION

What a beautiful way to celebrate 10 Years of Peter Clarke Art Centre! 🎨
Walking through the exhibition space and seeing the incredible work created by our learners was truly special. The way the works were curated, displayed and brought together created such a beautiful reflection of the creativity, growth and talent within our school community.
And to our teachers , THANK YOU! ❤️ Your dedication, patience and commitment to nurturing these young creatives does not go unnoticed.
A very special thank you to Teacher Theresa, who was at the forefront of bringing this exhibition together. Your vision, hard work and attention to detail helped create something truly special. You did an absolutely stunning job! 👏🏽🎨
And to our learners , WOW! Your work was phenomenal. You should be incredibly proud of what you created and contributed to this celebration.
This is just a little teaser of what the exhibition looked like…

Wearable art x New Media

Our VA grade 11s are currently creating some interesting wearable sculptures using found objects…This is inspired by the New Media movement we covered in our theory classes. A great way of making theory into practise. Stay tuned to see their results in Term 4🔥🔥🔥

A huge congratulations to teacher Theresa and Ruby on a wonderful and meaningful teacher workshop held the other Saturday!

The theme of Water & Hygiene was intentionally chosen to align with the Foundation Phase Life Skills CAPS curriculum, creating an opportunity for teachers to explore how important everyday themes can be brought into the classroom through creativity and art.

We were thrilled to welcome 50 primary school teachers from across Cape Town, with SANELISIWE *SANE and Sivuyile Tembani from Viva con Agua Cape Town joining the workshop and contributing to the conversation around water education and infrastructure in South Africa.

This workshop forms part of an exciting journey towards a Water & Hygiene-themed exhibition in Term 1 of 2027, which we are developing in collaboration with Viva Con Agua South Africa. We look forward to seeing how these conversations and creative explorations can grow into something meaningful for both teachers and learners.

We are incredibly grateful to Anina Lundie from DES Creative Arts, for her support in bringing the workshop together. Anina’s assistance was instrumental in making this possible, and we truly value her continued support. 🙏🏾

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Peter Clarke’s Ibhabhatane Project for endorsing and providing financial assistance towards our workshops. This support is incredibly important in helping us continue creating valuable professional development opportunities for teachers and strengthening arts education in our schools.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day a success. Together, we are creating spaces where teachers, creativity and meaningful learning can come together.💧🌱🎨
