Unlike their larger hyena cousins, aardwolves are insectivores, feasting mainly on termites and ants. With their slender bodies, long legs, and distinctive black stripes, they’re well adapted to the African bush. But they’re mostly nocturnal, so catching a glimpse of one during the day is a rare and magical experience.

Next time you're in Kruger, keep your eyes peeled for these nocturnal hunters. Who knows – you might just be lucky enough to witness this fascinating creature in action!

Join the Ajubatus Foundation and Down2TheWire in fighting against poaching in our national parks by wearing bracelets and rings made from snares recovered from the wild. 🦁🐾🚫

The use of Animal Snares is often indiscriminate in the wildlife species caught and barbaric given the level of suffering they often cause. Kruger National Park faces an ongoing battle against poachers and by purchasing snare jewellery, you are empowering organisations committed to better conservation practices.

For 21 years, the Ajubatus Foundation has invested in leading edge conservation research, tertiary academic programmes and community initiatives within the Greater Kruger National Park. For more information about our projects: https://www.ajubatus.co.za/projects/ .

Our Snare Jewellery range (in proud collaboration with down2the_wire) is a most positive reminder of the need to protect our wilderness environments, and a great way to support Ajubatus Research and Snare-Removal Field Teams. If you are passionate about wildlife then this is a great way to make a most positive contribution. We may not save every creature from snares, but we can ensure repurposing of wire snares makes a most positive contribution to Conservation Research. 🦏
