Friday Fun Day!!! Its been a scorcher of a week in Cape Town. Some morning fun in the sun 🌞

Term 1 is usually the busiest time of year. Our 3 year olds learning about good toilet practice and hygiene. Their little faces are so engrossed and excited.

Our babies LOVE a photo opportunity. Thought I'd catch a quick "in the moment" photo and within seconds they all came running 🎈

At Rainbow ECD Centre, every block built, every toy shared and every moment spent together helps develop creativity, confidence and essential life skills.

Our classrooms are spaces where children feel safe, supported and free to explore the world around them. Through play, they learn problem-solving, communication and independence — building the foundation for their future.

Our saplings have arrived and our little Rainbow saplings couldn't contain their excitement. Now to test the soil. Stay tuned for updates 🌿🥬🧅 Creative Hub

This is a project that's been a full year in the making. Finally we are kicking off our garden. We've partnered with Masiphumelele Creative Hub Garden Champions Programme. This year we look forward to growing vegetables and teaching children at our school about gardening. Stay tuned to see the growth over the next few months.

Every year our older kid are assessed by Learning Initiative for school preparedness. When identified they are in a 10 month program with Occupational Therapists to help them bridging any deficit gaps. What a wonderful way of helping them to gain confidence and build them physically, emotionally and socially.

We are so grateful for our continued partnership with Gray’s Home Cleaning. 💛

Their support means so much to our centre, our teachers and especially our children. Partnerships like these help us create a clean, safe and welcoming environment where our little ones can learn, grow and thrive every day.

It is inspiring to work with organisations that truly care about our community and are willing to invest in the future of our children.

Every year a new lot of 2year old joins our ECD. They are normally timid, shy and teary. No confidence as we're all strangers to them. I specially keep a distance and greet them only from the door. Some will immediately cry and run to the comfort of their teacher.
This boy, Wyson was no different.
This year was a different story. On my first visit to the school he came running, shouting "grandpaaa" and grabbing my leg.
That's the confidence built and now we're best friends.

2026 seems to be the year of twins at Rainbow ECD. We have 5 sets of twins this year. Someone said it represents "abundance" and we'll receive that 🥰 Now the last two are infact not twins or even brothers but they bullied me to take their photo and who can say no to those faces.?

Agcobile was with us since she was a little 2yr old. She made her Mom bring her very early this morning to show her Grade R teacher how cute she looks in her new school uniform. We don't always know the impact we make on the lives of children but sometimes we get a glimpse.

As we step into 2026, we give thanks to God for His protection, provision, and faithfulness that has carried us and our children safely into a new year. We warmly welcome every child, parent, caregiver, staff member, and community partner back to our ECD Centre family.

Each child entrusted to us is a precious gift from God. We are committed to nurturing them in an environment filled with love, care, patience, and respect—where they can grow emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually. We believe that with God’s guidance, every child has purpose, potential, and a bright future

We thank our parents and caregivers for walking this journey with us. Your trust and partnership strengthen our work and remind us that when families and educators stand together, children flourish. To our dedicated staff, we are grateful for your servant hearts and your daily commitment to teaching with compassion and excellence.
We also acknowledge our wider community and supporters. Your kindness and generosity reflect God’s love in action and help us create a place of safety, hope, and opportunity for all our children.

As we begin this year, we pray for wisdom, unity, and joy in all that we do. May our centre continue to be a place where faith is lived out through kindness, learning is celebrated, and every child feels valued and seen.
