Mrs Otto attended The Science of Reading course at CTLI last term. Here she shares not just the motivation for this particular approach; the methods and strategies of teaching using the approach with the rest of the staff, but also gives the rest of the staff, not in the foundation phase some insight into what's happening in the foundation phase grades where this approach is being used. Thanks, Mrs Otto! Your enthusiasm and sincere goal of giving the learners at Heideveld Primary the best education possible, is truly admirable and shared by your colleagues. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our profession and the school community.

I loved having bedtime stories read to me when I was a girl, and I loved reading them to our daughter when she was a girl. I cannot imagine a childhood without the magic of the bedtime story. Thank you Dad.
