A massive congratulations to our Junior Debating team on an extraordinary performance at the Western Province Championships!

The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning every single round through to the finals to take home the title of Western Province Junior Champions! 🥇

A special mention goes to Sacha Murugan, who ranked 1st in the province and was named Best Junior Speaker. Further congratulations to both Sacha Murugan and Ali Saddiq, who have been invited to trials for the Western Province Provincial Squad taking place over the weekend of 15–16 August.

We are immensely proud of these boys and their incredible achievements! 👏🏼

Rondebosch Matriculants Excel in the ATKV National Afrikaans Olympiad

We are extremely proud to announce that two of our top-set Afrikaans FAL learners, Alexander Benecke and Taniel Webber, have won the ATKV National Afrikaans Olympiad!

Out of 2,149 national candidates, they placed first provincially and nationally with an impressive score of 94.2%. In recognition of their outstanding achievement, they will each receive R5,500 in prize money.

Congratulations to the Afrikaans Department and its dedicated teachers for their unwavering support in guiding these boys on their Afrikaans journey at Rondebosch. We eagerly await their final NSC results! 👏🏼

UCT MATHEMATICS COMPETITION GOLD AWARD WINNERS 🏆

For the fifth consecutive year - and 11th time in the last 12 years - Rondebosch was awarded the trophy for the best performing school in the University of Cape Town Mathematics Competition. This was the 20th time that the trophy has been presented to our mathematicians!

Gold awards are presented to individual participants who finish in the Top 10 and to pairs who finish in the Top 3 of their respective grades. Congratulations to the following boys who received gold awards at the annual UCT Mathematics Competition prize giving.

Congratulations to Luke Bell (Grade 8) on his remarkable performance at the SA Open Chess Championships during the school holidays ♟️

Luke qualified to compete in the prestigious Championship section, the tournament’s top Open division. Despite entering the event ranked 41st out of the 45 qualified players, he delivered an exceptional performance on the board to leap up the standings and finish 9th overall.

To cap off an extraordinary tournament, Luke was also awarded the Best Junior Award in the Championship division.

A huge congratulations to Joseph Feast on an incredible run at the 2026 World Junior Squash Championships! 👏🏼

Joe finished as the top-ranked South African player in the Individual Championships, breaking into the Top 32 in the world out of a stacked draw of over 100 players. He kept that grit going into the team event against Hong Kong, showing remarkable resilience to pull off a heroic comeback from two games down and win his match 3-2 against Ting To Brogan Cheng!

It’s been a standout tournament for the RBHS Captain, WPJS U19A #1, SA U19 #2, and WPCC Men’s Senior First Team #2 player. We are immensely proud of his achievements and how brilliantly he represented South Africa on the global stage. 🇿🇦🥳
