Elemental Kids

Elemental Kids Elemental Kids provides unique, dynamic, fun-filled experiential learning and inquiry based programmes for children between the ages of 6/7 and 11/12!

Programmes are created around an elemental theme: earth, water, fire and air. Elemental Kids is committed to the belief that memorable and enjoyable learning happens when children are active participants. It happens when children experience, discover and learn about ourselves, others and the world around them by doing. It is for this reason that the programmes we create, take children on journeys of discovery and exploration. The programmes seek to encourage the expression of their natural curiosity! This happens through thoughfully designed workshops that are filled with creative work, artistic expression, experiments, group projects, collaborative under-takings, games and out door activities. Our programmes are built around a particular elemental theme: fire, earth, water or air. This theme links all the activities into an integrated experience. We focus on the elements because they form the foundation of all life. Their exploration presents us with unlimited possibility to learn about the world. The programmes are designed to nurture children’s self-esteem. This means that the facilitators consciously focus on supporting children as they learn about themselves in relationship to others. This happens by focusing aspects of the programmes on relationship building, communciation skills, problem solving, goal setting, planning and working as part of a team. Practices and activities that give children the opportunity to take risks, learn from their mistakes, set goals, reflect on what they have achieved, give feedback and acknowlege their own and others acheivements are built into the daily structure of the workshops in each programme! This way, we support and empower children as well! Elemental Kids collaborates with a variety of individuals and organisations involved in the field of eduction. Our programmes are co-created by a team of people who bring together their unique talents and expertise to provide a rich learning experience for the children involved!

We came together to celebrate the time we have spent building a wonderful community of families! After 6 amazing years of experiential holiday events, Elemental Kids is closing it's doors. To celebrate we returned to the vlei at the Imperial Yatch club, one of our all time favourite venues. We sailed, socialised and remembered special times! A great big thank you to everyone who joined us :)

This summer children are exploring the element of water through magic! This week we will be working together to create a witches and wizards fete. It is going to be simply amazing - making magical wands and capes, working with essential oils to make potions, learning how to craft smoke bombs and spending as much time at the beach as possible :)
