From the fields of Sun Valley Primary to wearing the green and gold of South Africa πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦βš½

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sun Valley alumna, Shakira O'Malley, whose football journey continues to inspire the next generation of young athletes.

Currently playing for the University of the Western Cape in the Hollywood Bets Super League, Shakira has worked tirelessly to establish herself as one of South Africa's rising football stars.

Her achievements on the national stage are outstanding:

⚽ Made her Banyana Banyana debut against Jamaica in 2024.
⚽ Represented South Africa with 8 Junior Caps and 9 Senior Caps.
⚽ Scored for South Africa at both Junior (U17) and Senior (Banyana Banyana) level.
⚽ Won a COSAFA Silver Medal with Banyana Banyana in 2026.

Shakira's success extends far beyond the football field. While pursuing her sporting dreams, she also excelled academically, graduating with a BBA in Finance in 2025.

Her university football achievements include:

πŸ† MAC Regular Season Champions (2023 & 2024)
πŸ† MAC Tournament Champions (2024)
πŸ† NCAA National Tournament First Round Appearance (2024)

Shakira's journey is a powerful reminder that success comes from dedication, resilience, and a willingness to chase big dreams both on and off the field.

We are incredibly proud to see a former Sun Valley learner making her mark at the highest levels of South African football while also achieving academic excellence.

Congratulations, Shakira! Your Sun Valley family is cheering you on every step of the way, and we can't wait to see what comes next.

πŸ‰ Rugby vs Kirstenhof Primary | 30 May πŸ‰

What a fantastic morning of rugby as our Sun Valley teams took on Kirstenhof Primary!

A huge thank you to Kirstenhof Primary, their coaches, players, and supporters for making the trip and contributing to a wonderful day of schoolboy rugby. The spirit in which the games were played was outstanding and a true reflection of what school sport is all about.

From the first whistle to the final play, our players showed tremendous courage, commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. There was no shortage of big tackles, determined runs, and passionate support from the sidelines. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see players enjoying the game, learning, and growing together.

We are incredibly proud of every player who represented Sun Valley with pride and respect. Thank you to our coaches, referees, and families for your continued support and encouragement.

Well played, Kirstenhof Primary, and we look forward to meeting again soon!
