Here is Jaden Marcus who started karate at Jireh a couple of years ago.
He went on to represent South Africa in the 3rd Junior World Tournament in BULGARIA in 2016.
He was the ONLY South African who made the podium with 3rd Place.
Today he continues with his karate az a Kyokushin BLACKBELT.
It all started at Jireh!
ARE THERE ANY OTHER JADENS AT JIREH TODAY?
We are ready to provide the service.

Not my opinion but just thought I would share out of interest 💙
If you don't know, my everyday involves running Jireh Community Projects, an NGO which core project is a Model ECD centre registered for 300 children. We only accommodate up to 200 children for logistic reasons and because we firmly believe in the complete holistic growth of each child and less children means we can focus on each child’s individual needs. The children are between the ages of 14 months and 6 years old.
Jireh won the Nelson Mandela Award for Community Initiative in 1998.
On the 18th of March our centre was closed as part of the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID19 and for the safety of all children and staff. We locked the building with such heavy hearts, with much uncertainty and confusion we said our temporary goodbyes. In the organisations 30 years of existence never had we thought that something like this could rock our lives and the lives of those around us. We prayed and pressed on not knowing how we would make ends meet financially and get through.
How would the parents of the children who attend make it through with unemployment and retrenchments on the rise. More so, would the children in our care understand what was happening and would they all make it through without contracting the virus.
Today we are 4 months into lockdown, and we have started slowly re-integrating children into our centre. The building feels so empty at times and my heart just feels broken. I miss the noise, the warmth and surety of things going smoothly.
Lockdown had me missing the friendly faces of children and their families, the loud laughter in the building and the drive I had to keep things going no matter what. For the children, for the staff, for the community, because we do not need to be losing ECD centres right now. The truth is that the hope I spoke about wherever I went and when speaking at events had diminished greatly. I grew weary and tired many days while trying to fight retrenchments and whether we could re-open this year or not.
The centre was never my dream but it has been a dream, considering that we get to make children smile daily and make them feel safe and loved when their parents are at work. A home away from home, a place they can express themselves safely and just feel free….I get to run this centre with an all-woman team of 22 ladies and we do our jobs wholeheartedly day in and day out. This lockdown had me questioning my faith daily. I drive 35 to 40 minutes to get to the centre and each morning on my way to work I pray and worship and on my way back I do the same. Its my quiet time. I have made some big moves in my life, God has helped me fight some giants I thought would never fall and now I have come to a point where I need God to come through again.
On Monday I heard this song by Elevation Worship and I just broke. The song is called Never Lost…each year I find a song as my theme song and this year it wins hands down. The fact is, God has not left me or the organisation.
You can do all things
You can do all things but fail
'Cause You've never lost a battle
No, You've never lost a battle
And I know, I know You never will
Right now, I know You're able
My God, come through again
So we wait and I ask anyone who has taken the time to read this to please share and say a prayer for Jireh Community Projects in Mitchells Plain and if you feel there is a financial contribution you can make to help us during this time please email [email protected] for further details. I also pray for you, the person reading this, that God will come through for you and your family like never before.
My name is Trevor Rustin and I am a Karate Instructor.
A few years ago I offered karate at your institution and I am extremely pleased to advise that the following learners who were introduced to karate at the tender age of 4/5 are still doing karate with me:
Jaden Marcus went to Bulgaria in 2016 to participate in the Junior World Tournament. He achieved 3rd Place and was the only South African to make podium.
Jaden also achieved his blackbelt in Dec 2018.
Kayla Jefthas was also introduced to Karate at Jireh.
Kaylin represented South Africa in Bulgaria in 2016.
Kayla will test for her blackbelt in Dec 2020.
Cameron April also started at Jireh.
He will test for his blackbelt in Dec 2020.
It is all thanks to you for having given them the opportunity.
We now ask if you would consider to give your students/learners the opportunity to be exposed to karate. Who knows, in 12 years time, we can write the same story about them.
Hoping to hear from you.
I have designed programs specially for kids 3 years and up.
