Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo!
You strike a woman, you strike a rock.
Today, as we celebrate National Women’s Day, we remember that this day was born from courage.
On 9 August 1956, more than 20 000 women of different races and backgrounds marched together to the Union Buildings in protest against the unjust pass laws. They stood shoulder to shoulder, not only for themselves, but for their families, their communities and the generations who would come after them.
Their courage reminds us of something powerful: when women rise, they do not rise alone. They lift others with them. When women stand together, they become a formidable force for freedom, dignity and change.
To the extraordinary women of Greenfield, thank you.
Thank you for the countless ways in which you nurture our Greenies, surrounding them with care, compassion and a sense of belonging.
Thank you for inspiring them to find their voices, believe in themselves, stand up for what is right and become women of courage and purpose.
And thank you for being the formidable force behind them, creating the opportunities, encouragement and support that allow every Greenie to flourish.
May the girls watching us today learn that strength and kindness can walk hand in hand; that women are stronger when they build one another up; and that their voices, choices and courage can help create a more just and compassionate world.
To the women of Greenfield: we see you, we value you, and we thank you.
Nurture. Inspire. Flourish.
Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo!
Happy National Women’s Day. 🇿🇦

Happy International Friendship Day! 💚
At Greenfield Girls’ Primary, we know that strong, respectful friendships help our girls feel safe, valued and supported. Good friendships are built on kindness, honesty, empathy, trust and respect.
Having a good friend begins with being a good friend: listening with care, including others, celebrating their successes and standing beside them when life feels difficult.
Parents and caregivers are our girls’ first role models. When children see adults nurturing loyal, caring and respectful friendships, they learn how to become thoughtful and compassionate friends themselves.
Today, let us celebrate the friends who bring joy to our lives and encourage every Greenie to be the kind of friend she would love to have. 🌿💚

The Greenfield community is deeply saddened by the passing of Jessica Simon, a beloved former Greenie from the Class of 2014.
Jessica was lively, outgoing and bright. She shone in all she did, bringing energy, confidence and joy to every aspect of her school life. With her vibrant personality and remarkable presence, she was truly unforgettable and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Our hearts and deepest sympathies are with her parents, Alex and Kathi, her sister, Stefanie, and all those who loved Jessica, during this time of unimaginable loss.
May the many beautiful memories of Jessica bring comfort, and may her bright light continue to shine in the hearts of everyone whose life she touched.
Rest peacefully, dear Jessica. Ntinga ntaka!

"It is in your hands to make our world a better one for all who live in it." – Nelson Mandela
Today we honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela by celebrating the values he lived every day: kindness, compassion, courage, respect and service to others.
At Greenfield Girls' Primary, we believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. Whether it is helping a friend, sharing a smile, standing up for what is right or giving our time to those in need, every Greenie has the power to make a positive impact.
As we mark Mandela Day, let us remember that we do not need to change the whole world in a single day. We simply need to make someone's world a little brighter.
Together, we can continue Creating Women of Purpose who lead with empathy, integrity and hope.
Happy Mandela Day! 🇿🇦💛
