30 Years of Freedom: Is the Constitution Delivering for You?

Date: Tuesday, 14 April 2026

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Tune In: Bush Radio 89.5 FM 📻

As we approach Freedom Day, we’re looking back at the foundation of our democracy. From the historic Interim Constitution of 1993 to the final document that governs us today, South Africa’s legal journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

But beyond the paper, what is the reality?

Join the Bush Radio Advice Office Programme this Tuesday as we sit down with legal experts and activists to tackle the big questions:

* Did the Constitution deliver on its promise to end inequality?

* How do you protect your rights when they are violated?

* What is the difference between "civil rights" and your right to food, housing, and healthcare?

* How resilient is our democracy against state capture and institutional attacks?

Whether you're a young person looking to understand your heritage or someone fighting for justice in your community, this conversation is for you.

We want to hear from you!

Do you feel the Constitution protects you in your daily life? Where are the gaps?

Tune in this Tuesday, 17 March at 1PM on Bush Radio for the Advice Office programme.

We're diving deep into reproductive rights in South Africa — because having one of the world's most progressive constitutions doesn't always translate into lived reality.

We'll be unpacking:
* Barriers to safe abortion despite legal protections
* The crisis of maternal mortality & state accountability
* Period poverty & what real policy change looks like
* Forced marriages, coerced sterilisation & bodily autonomy
* Childcare burdens & women's economic participation
* Healthcare access for rural & marginalised communities
